The flashlight blinding you at close range makes some sense. I mean really, it serves little purpose otherwise. Although you could easily argue for it's removal. I'm just happy it's not so powerful at range, close up it'll still suck but at least it makes some sense.

I'm happy they nerfed the crap out of the IR scope. I used it and liked it but I feel like you should be using your eyes to pick out enemies, not relying on having them tagged with big shoot me signs. As much as I love this game, some of the weapon/vehicle perks really skew things to those that put in the time. I'm all for perks for putting in the time, but it seems to create a large imbalance. I'd rather the game be about skill, not like WoW where for the most part putting in the time gets you the gear, regardless of skill. That's what a shooter should be about. Admittedly, I'm opinion is probably biased as I don't get to play anywhere near as much as I'd like.

I've played 13 hours on PC and got to level 8. How far away am I in getting the flashlight and the IR scope?

I picked up a rifle with IR scope once form a dead body and it was very handy. I got a lot of kills from that one.

it's not dependent on your level, it's per gun. i believe it will unlock once you hit 100 kills with a particular gun

I wouldn't worry too much about those 2 items anymore - they have both been severely limited in terms of in game function with the latest patch.

Tried to play with the IR scope last night - it is pretty much unusable now. The bright flash it gives you when you first engage it makes it impossible to sight anyone for half a second - which means you are dead.

The second thing that ruins my night is the stupid USAS shotgun - guys just run around with that thing and mow you down and there really isn't anything you can do.

Yeah, USAS with 12g frag rounds is basically an automatic grenade launcher.

Looking forward to the DLC release on the 13th, some of those maps are classics and should be a lot of fun!!

Since the update a few weeks back i havent played at all. It was kicking me out almost every game and was just frustrating as hell to play. Now with Batman out I havent even thought of touching this game. Hopefully the expansion will breathe some life into it for me, I was a BF whore until this one.

Yeah, I stay away from the high ticket servers so I don't lose 5000 plus points each crash

But, I should have expected this from anything EA related.

And I'm still pissed with the tactical light at close range and no horns for the jeeps.

That's the problem with these games, one guy posts a video of a amazing long distance knife kill where it bounces off a plane, goes through a sky light and kills a guy a half mile away, next thing you know, you're caught in a rain storm made of falling knives.

I got into a small room last night to practice my flying skills but the three other guys were too busy trying to boost their scores. they must have been friends because they were just swapping flags. It got so old that I went al quida on them with the planes until they left. I got some nasty messages from them.

Its a "You have been disconnected from the EA Server"

It was a mass thing when i was reading the forums - updating my punkbuster didnt help either.

Here's that story told from the other side.....

So my friends and I were hanging out on teamspeak and capping flags when this pubbie comes in and starts flying around. No biggee, plenty of room for everyone and he seemed to be practicing his flying skills. But then, for no reason, he became a doosh and starting frakking around. When you get a new unlock, is your weapon equipped with the unlock automatically? Also, if you get a 6X scope, does it supplant your older 4X scope automatically? Thanks.

Nope. You have to go customize it after the round with which you unlocked the item.

There were four of us in the room, The reason why I know they were boosting is that even my own teammate was shooting at me to show them where I was at.
