Agree. As unorthadox a style as he has, he was a huge winner in college, and I've even heard some media sources in the past refer to him as arguably the greatest player in college football history. Guys like that are going to have a lot of hype coming into the pros, whether they're predicted to fail or not.

Tebow is the Nickelback of the NFL.
Everyone says they both suck, that neither are any good.
They are both horrendously over-exposed.
But they both are a huge success.

As a Broncos fan, I hated the pick and especially the trade up.
All of the negative media that has plagued him since then has been over the top, IMO. Judge him for his play.
Speaking of his play, it is clear that at this moment he is not an NFL passer. However, he has something. His leadership and desire are infectious and equal or better than any QB playing in the league today. If Kyle Orton had it, the Broncos would be a playoff team right now. Tebow also takes care of the ball. If it is possible to become an adequate passer, he will do it and he will be a solid NFL QB. I just don't know if it is possible.
He has handled the media with grace and I admire him for being able to let all of this crap roll off of him.

I though Chuck Cecil was DC, and Schwartz was just the D line coach?
Anyways, that tree of coaches has a reputation for being chippy. I do think Schwartz wants his team to play on the edge, and cross it occasionally. For the most part I think there are a lot of coaches who don't mind early in the game penalties for overly aggressive play in certain parts of the field. Basically trying to establish how miserable of a day it's going to be type of thing.
But on 3rd and goal when the game could start to get out of reach and a guy who is your best lineman takes that penalty, and gets himself tosses out of the game that's a problem.
Schwartz now has to deal with the situation he created. He was able to bring that mindset to the team...now can he control it, or is he going to let it get out of control. Suh can be a great player. But unless you're Moon...you can clearly see that Suh taking a dumb penalty after a 3rd and goal play fails to score a touch down and getting himself out of the game...is only going to help the other team win.

After looking and listening to the Suh and Dietrich-Smith incident, I dont think you will find anyone defending Suh's actions league wide. It was a dirty play plain and simple.
However, after hearing some D-linemen weigh in on the matter, Dietrich-Smith is not completely innocent in the matter either as you can clearly see him trying to twist and drive Suh into the ground, sounds harmless enough but the twist and drive is seen as being a dirty play in itself as it can, and has resulted in numerous knee injuries league wide on defensive linemen.

I never really thought about it before, but I just read through the last 20 or so pages in this thread, and the entire NFC North is very well represented on this board. Some pretty healthy rivalries in that division, which spill out into the fans. Makes for some good reading in here.
AFC West is too, doesn't seem to be as much venom this year though. I wish there was a regular Falcons fan on here so I could chirp him constantly.

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Erik Walden was arrested Friday on suspicion of felony domestic violence/substantial battery and will remain in the Brown County Jail until at least Monday.
|
Quote:
Walden allegedly assaulted his live-in girlfriend at the couple's apartment in Lawrence, just outside of Green Bay. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the Brown County Court is closed for the weekend, so while Walden's teammates have the next three days off following the team's 27-15 Thanksgiving Day victory at Detroit, Walden will remain in jail.

Just looking at the morning slate of games, man that's some terrible match-ups there. Hope a lot of them go down to the wire, because otherwise they're gonna be snoozers. Jets/Bills is the only one that has any kind of appeal, but with the Bills in freefall mode & Fred Jackson out, even that one's dull.
Some decent afternoon games at least.

Mornings like this make me happy I have the Red Zone Channel. I won't get sucked in by some crappy game, I'll be able to just watch the good stuff.

Games? as in plural? I went through my entire Shaw and dont get a single game that isnt Buffalo V NYJ. Pending TSN2's 'To Be Announced'.
Luckily though, I believe I heard earlier this week that Sportsnet W has the Bears V Raiders game on today, so I will take the tradeoff

I got Sunday Ticket bro. Only way to travel when you're a Saints fan, especially pre-09.

That TSN2 TBA game is Minnesota@Atlanta.
I have to say overall this schedule this week is pretty ####ty for games.

I keep picturing Minnesota as being an underperformer with upset potential. Then I watch them play... That defense is horrid past the Dline

Once again the Titans look piss poor. With a slim chance at competing in the division with Houston after the injuries, they seem to have come out more flat then the start of the season
