Rape is justified when grown men ruin the lives of 10's possibly 100's of children over the course of at least a decade and I am sure it is much longer then that.

That answer looks bad in print, but it was even worse worse with all the pauses. It took 17 seconds for him to say "no." I don't know how his lawyer could have thought that interview was a good idea.

I was going to mention that, especially after the Pedophille question where he just pauses.
I didn't want to start adding pauses to the transcript, even without those pauses, his reaction to the sexually attracted to young boys answer in black and white is creepy.
Its not quite as bad as Graham James interview with Eric Francis I think where he believed that he had loved a lot of young boys.

I don't know how his lawyer could say that he believes Sandusky is innocent with a straight face which he did. Amazing.

That interview was horribly creepy. I had to mute it, I couldn't take it anymore.
The part where Costas asks him if he should have done something differently, he answered something like "Well, yah, I guess I wouldn't have showered with those boys"
Sandusky like any pedophile is putrid.
They don't think there is anything wrong with their heinious atrocities.
Pull the switch on everyone of them.
They prey on the most vulnrable, impressionable, innocent victims, our children.
I wouldn't be suprised if his victims total well over 100. Given how long he has been up to his scam, the seclusion and control he had in those camps.
This is pretty much a worst case scenario for a pedo, massive access hundreds if not thousands of potential victims, most of whom were already vunerable to abuse, a position of authority and, it would appear, the tacit approval to do what he wanted and it would be covered up by the authorities and the college.
He also coached High School football and was a foster parent so expect victims to come out from there as well as the charity.
If Sandusky was a college professor, he likely won't have the same authority as he enjoyed as a football coach.
Maybe it's time for the society to revisit the importance we place on sports. Why does a football coach have so much authority in young people's life?
I'm sure a few here will disagree but I think college ball should really be college ball, no recruiting at all, you have to find your players from the regular students after they have enrolled, coach's should be unpaid and be a volunteer gig of a regular teacher.
Either that or just cut the strings to the colleges all together and go pro.

Why did his lawyer think that interview would help his cause. That was brutal listening to that creep speak. You can hear the fear in his voice the man is scared to death. Looks good on him. He's guilty as sin.
Aside from the victims, which I feel tremendous sympathy for, I cannot fathom how this sicko's wife and kids feel. Knowing now, what a horrible person he really is.
When I have kids one day, I do not know if I would ever let them play organized sports. My abuser was a coach, and so many of these guys seem to flock to coaching sports as it makes for such easy targets... low hanging fruit per se. When I read through stories like this, I remember the creepy feeling I used to get when coach sicko was looking at us in the showers back in the 80's, and knowing what was really going through his melon.
After hearing that interview, I can guarantee you, Sandusky is guilty without question. I hope this whole scenario ends at the end of a rope, or a self inflicted 12 gauge shotgun wound. These guys are simply not fixable, and are a plague on society. They like kids, no different than I like hot young chicks, or a gay man likes another man. It is genetic, and cannot be changed.

Well, I'm sure Costas wouldn't have agreed to a "censored" interview. Bad lawyering.
I don't know if that was bad lawyering or not. His case couldn't have gotten any worse. In the court of public opinion, the pervert has been tried and convicted. I think by having him do the interview and deny the charges and stake his intent to fight them, it might be a strategy to keep those victims who are afraid to come forward or whom he still has control over, to stay quiet.
I hope it backfires in his pervert face, but I don't know if it is bad lawyering.
