I did too and I've come to really dislike that old farmer, he's too shady.
The great thing about a series like this is that it always keeps you guessing, I was just pissed that episode ended when it did. I want to see more!

I thought the opening scene where they blow up Atlanta was really good too. Seeing all the in-fighting on the highway, and people panicking in the cars while helicopters are flying over by the droves. Pretty tense I thought.
And yay! Zombie barn time!

I've watched every episode, and Sophia has to be the least important and uninteresting character. It's either brilliant scriptwriting to get her off the show for multiple episodes or gawd-dang annoying that everyone is worrying so much about a minor character who adds little value to the show.
That said, I'm probably going to hell because of my lack of compassion for a child lol . . .

I think the missing child would be a much more compelling story line, if she'd had more than two lines in the entire show so far. I mean, does anybody even remember what she looks like? I don't.
Gotta develop characters to make anyone care about what happens to them.

Put me in the camp of loving this season.
I'm not into this show because of zombie action. Sure, some of it is kinda cool, but I want more, and this show delivers more.
To me, the whole point of this show is the day to day happenings of this group of people thrust into this world that they wanted no part of. The decisions they have to make are what make this show interesting. Every decision has such grave consequences, you put yourself in their shoes, and you don't know what the hell you'd do. You think you would do one thing, but you're not 100 percent sure. Would I keep on looking for Sophia if I were them? I'd like to think I would, but as Shane said, it's simple math. Stuff like this is what makes the show for me. Love it.
I don't care that in the whole grand scheme of things not a lot has happened. I've been thoroughly entertained with these smaller stories. I thought Darryl's awful day was great drama. His scenes with his brother were very good.
By the way AMC, if you're going to bring back a character whose whereabouts have been a mystery for 10 or so episodes, how about you not put the person's name in the opening credits. Once I saw Michael Rooker's name at the beginning, I felt ripped off. The first image of him in the dream sequence would have made a lot better effect on me if I didn't know he was going to be in this episode. I digress.
I'm very happy with what they have done in this season and would be fine if Sophia's whereabouts isn't known unti season's end, or if at all. I don't need things wrapped up with a nice bow. Nothing wrong with a little mystery.

These episodes, finding Sophia, are about the developing relationships. In particular the relationship between Daryl and Carol, Daryl's gonna need some of those condoms I think.

No it wasn't Glenn. He's ok, but lately Daryl has been one of the better characters.

Ewwww - why would Daryl do that? I guess maybe the comic book might be the reason for that comment, as you might know something. . . I'm not sure. But from looking at the two, how that would work out. Daryl's younger, more useful, interesting, athletic, and I don't hate him. Where the opposite would be said for Shaved head, beaten, boring, lesbian appearing Carol.
To jump into all the back and forth about this show. Totally unrealistic.
First of all to become a zombie you need to get bit - but obviously live. We've seen that we're already at a point where that's very unlikely to happen. More likely you're going to go the fate of Otis and be eaten.
So at some point there must have been few enough that you were just bitten and then the eaten point. I honestly can't fathom a point when slow walking Zombies could take out the army with choppers, planes, tanks, hummers with mounted machine guns and infantry. I might be wrong, but when rationalizing it within my small brain it doesn't make sense. In addition to all the comments within the thread.
Regardless I think it's a great show. I'm tired of the little girl, getting a little bored of the Little House on the Prairie but I still really enjoy it. So I think it's a winner!

Have you ever seen the original night of the living. Now that ending was like a no frigin way moment.
The zombie barn just made me want to keep watching. Sometimes I question myself on why I do.

Better episode last night – they are finally developing some interesting long term conflicts that aren’t just black and white and make you wonder who is making the best choices. I wish they would demonize Shane’s standpoint of pure rationality regarding survival a bit less, I find myself agreeing with a lot of what he says, and really makes me wonder what I would do in the same situation.
Random thoughts:
At this point the storyline with the little girl has flat lined entirely, I don’t even care if they find her dead or alive I just want things to start progressing.
I really hope the reason for keeping the zombies in the barn is a sinister one. The best plot angle in a zombie apocalypse story is when the biggest threat isn’t the dead but the people who are still living – ala 28 Days Later.
So I guess with his brother representing his internal conflict Daryl is going to start to turn his back on, and eventually do harm to the group? I like it.

Read the comic. If the show is following the rest of it to a tee, you will be happy to know that human conflict is inevitable - I think the show is doing a fine job of slowly breaking down societal rules and fomenting chaos within the group.

I gave up on this show. There just isn't enough going on. I actually found myself enraged when they even bothered to look for Sophia. If a girl who is 8-10 yrs old can even keep her mouth shut while zombies are walking by (after all the other things the group has already gone through) then she deserves to die. You add to that the fact that she couldn't even stay put when Rick told her to stay put... No sympathy from me. Let her die and move on. Too much of a liability.

I thought they had established in the first season that everyone is already infected, and that so long as you're dead and you're brain is in tact that you will become a zombie regardless. Hence the guy who hung himself becoming a zombie. Getting bit just meant you would die sooner from a vicious infection caused by the bite.
Or am I just making stuff up from other zombie flicks I've seen? My girlfriend and I went on quite the zombie flick binge after Season 1 lol.

Totally agree, I know some people are griping about the perpetuation of the little girl search and "little house on the prairie" setting but they've done a nice job with the suspense of it all.

My understanding is that you have to be actually bitten in this particular show...could be wrong though.
I've continued watching this show only for the zombie mayhem, I PVR it so I can skip through the weak plot and character development.
I'm starting to cheer for the zombies, I can't stand any of these people.

I just hope that this show has the balls to not abide the mainstream sensibilities and forbidden subjects that may follow. I wish I was watching breaking bad to know how far this network will push the boundaries.
Spoiler for those who have read.

So I went to read wikipedia to find out why the zombies are in the barn, there seems to be some good stuff coming. But a lot of what is in there hasn't happened for us, just in the comics.
So I don't think we can accurately predict what will happen from here on in.. which is cool because then there is no way of truly knowing. More of a guess on which characters or events will actually appear or happen, and when.
