The make-up and effects for this show are just fantastic. The way they ripped that zombie in two was pretty incredible I thought. Probably nothing but corn starch and red dye, but man did it seem gory

Put me in the camp that would rather see these slow moving episodes as opposed to nothing but zombie slaughter.

To me, the show works best when it forces these people into really tough decisions and makes you think "what would I do if I were there?". Some of emotional hell that Sophia's mother has gone thru has been really well done. The acting isn't top notch, but that doesn't mean the story and characters haven't been developed well.

If the show was full of zombie gore and action, I'd be bored.

I really liked this show, but I feel we're getting cheated in the 2nd season.

It's not the plot, the first 2 episodes were ok, not great, not terrible. I loved the plot of the 3rd, but I'm upset about something.

In the zombie sequences, we are getting led. We are getting cheated.

It was the time and space argument I was making earlier, that is prevalant with most monster movies. Which you expect. If it`s kept to a min, it`s ok. But it's gotten even worse.

To open episode 3, they are trapped and can't open doors. Suddenly, without explanation they open doors and are running through a school hallway. ALL THEY SEE at the end of the hallway is a locked door. Change frame, different scene, come back. All of a sudden they can run left. (???) Change scene again, and somehow they avoided a giant zombie mob to have climbed up onto some bleachers. Bleachers which mind you, the zombies for some reason haven't figured out or climbed, even though they have destroyed all of society as we know it.

3 problems already, but we're not there yet. So the guys divide, the best route is the window in the gym, the other guy goes for the other door. We don't see him for a while. He shows up later. Weird enough, it ended up being the best route. There was a magical window there. One they didn't want to take before jumping onto the bleachers and trapping themselves?

They are falling into the problem regular monster movies have. Constant cheating of the audience. Showing a cliffhanger, only to show, an exit to the left.

This may die sooner than True Blood.

(Yeah I know I`m an episode late to the discussion.)

If you signed up with that expectation you are going to be disappointed. TWD is a human story in post a post apocalyptic world. The title is not about the zombies but about the men and women still alive; the walking dead.

Spoiler!

Man is Glenn a smooth talker. Way to go buddy!

Zombies can't climb things, or open doors, or operate machinery. They just wander around looking for their next meal. Completely mindless eating machines.

I think you're focusing too much on the small details.

I've really enjoyed the start to this season, however I am disappointed they are going with the obvious Rick vs Shane angle . I think I called that plot twist by episode 2.

That zombie ripping in half was probably the coolest thing this show has done.

I think the Rick vs Shane will heat up if Rick gives up his badge. Seems Shane is pretty good at being the loyal deputy...even now when there is no "law"...but once Rick puts the badge away he's not the sheriff any more.

The zombie rip was very cool.

Don't forget folks, this is based on a comic book. While not following the CB to a tee, it will give you some indication as to what lies ahead.

Gilled well-zombie FTW.

I guess, didn't know his name, matter of fact I don't think I know any of their names. That was the best way I could describe him. Maybe I should've said, skinny kid in the ball cap, but I didn't want to offend anorexics.

For those of you wondering why they're taking so long to find the girl and being stuck in that country lot, just wait. Patience is a virtue. I haven't read the comics, but did hear what happens next. It's going to be pretty mind bottling.
