Default What are your thoughts on Girls who have several kids all with different fathers

I know most people probably wouldnt be impressed, especially if theyre dating. Do people in general still look down on them? If so, why? Would you ever date a girl like this or is it a deal breaker to you?

For example i have a girl at work who has 5 kids, 5 different fathers! The oldest is 12 and get this, shes only 28! 28 and 5 kids, what the?

A friend of mine knows a girl who has 4 girls all with different fathers too.

Im not gonna lie, im always curious as to asking them if having all their kids with different fathers was intentional but dont wanna be rude and thats none of my business.

Do they have dolphin tattoos and think it's a good idea to drink 2 litres of Growers cider on a Tuesday afternoon? Poor judgement is a deal breaker

To put it nicely, they are usually a bad judge of character when it comes to men

Most people look down on it, but instead of being negative I would recommend identifying opportunity when it presents itself.

Actually, to the OP, I think you have to respect the girl described.

He said he knew this girl from work. Assuming she is an employee and not a client, this is a girl who has had some struggles relationship wise, but still gets her butt out of bed in morning and goes to work. How often do we see or hear about these same facts and the mother refuses to go and get a job and lives off of social assistance and the $100 per child for childcare?

Good for the mother described in the OP. My compliments to her.

Well ive know some girls in the past who intentionally have kids just so they can get childcare funds from the govt, then they just sit at home all day and do nothing as far as finding a job.

My view point on this is that, as long as parent is still there to support the child in terms of development, and is providing the kid with the proper amount of financial aid required to raise a child they can have as many as they want. What irks me is when people have children and then try to pretend they do not exist, or the parents themselves are already in a pretty terrible situation and can't provide the necessary things that a kid would need to grow up into a functioning member of society. Simply put, if you can't provide for the child, don't have one.

In the case of the OP, I would say that she has a hard time judging her relationships with men and probably could have been a lot more cautious. But if she is out there working hard, and still raising the children and giving them all the love and attention they deserve then good on her. As long as she isn't sitting around and expecting her former partners to pay for the childrens needs, and then spending said money on her self for really dumb reasons (ex. plastic surgery), then I have nothing against her. However, because she has so many kids, her plans for the weekend better be to spend as much time with them as possible, and not to dump them with her parents as she goes out and parties. If she is one of those girls that's still into hardcore partying then any respect she may have garnered would go straight out the window.

Now on a less serious note...this topic is clearly key vs. lock type logic. A key that can open any lock is pretty sweet, right? On the other hand, a lock that opens to any key...well that's just not a very good lock is it?

Yep, sitting at home watching TV and having five children serve her hand-and-foot.

Some interesting labels being thrown around here. What is the tipping point?

I have three children from two fathers and three step-children from another father.

So that's 6 kids, 3 fathers.
They range in age from 14 - 30 and I'm 48 years old.

My oldest daughter has a connection to all three fathers:

Her biological father (who I never married)
Her adoptive father (my first husband)
Her step father (my current husband)

My son has 2 half sisters and 2 step sisters. The two half sisters have different fathers. The love/care is there for all the kids, but a realistic view of what it takes and how fortunate they are considering the circumstances is missing. One of my best friends and his wife have two kids and are about to have twins. My son asked me if they were married. He has no real concept of the role of marriage i fear. I think most people would assume they were married, no?
