Perhaps indeed. Has smug smug been updated to iOS 5?

Perhaps uninstall Smugsmug?

Awesome, just found a fix.

- Downloaded a program called iExplorer (lets you get into your phone like it's a basic disk) link: http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/

- Navigated to media --> PhotoData

- Deleted the Photos.sqlite file

The instructions I found on this page http://blog.scoopz.com/2010/09/11/ip...ack-boxes-fix/ ask that you delete 3 files... I was only able to locate 1 but it seemed to do the trick.

I have turned everything off and I am at 84 percent at 10:30 so it is slightly better then yesterday but I would have guess it would have been more. I will keep you guys posted towards end of day. Also very light use of texting so far

I have been mucking around with mine a little this morning, plus about 30 minutes of streaming audio in the AM. I unplugged it around 7:30, and currently I am at 79%. So you might make it through the day.

See - I'm at 77% now, and my sister and I have been going back and forth with texts a bit because, ironically, Fido called her and told her that her new 4s is ready for pickup. I'm not sure why your battery is draining so quickly in comparison. I'm only down 2% over the same period, although you may have been using it 5x more than I. Interesting.

I suggest lowering the brightness a bit, you should conserve a bit more that way.

I would kill for 77% i'm at 65 now. I am in a group chat so over the last house 50 messages total have received/sent killing my battery almost 10 percent. I seem to lose about 10 percent an hour.

Where do you guys have your brightness? Mine is dead middle? I have now adjusted it to oved the e and s and it is pretty dark now

Another hour with brightness turned down and I am down another 10ish percent to 54%. I am starting to think it is my actual battery and not just the Ios5 I have everything turned off and only using group I message same pace of roughly 50 total texts an hour

I have now set my brightness even lower to over the gh

Another hour another 10 percent down to 42. I just noticed my notifications on lock screen are still on so I am going to turn all of them off now and see if there is a difference. I have also set my brightness to over the BR it is getting very difficult to see now

Well I found the Key! Don't use your phone. I did not touch my phone for 1 hour and I only lost 5 percent to 37! Which seems crazy that a phone will still lose 5 percent while sitting in idle receiving texts and not sending notifications

I'm currently at 46%, but since my last update, I streamed about 20 minutes of radio over 3G, send a few texts, downloaded and fiddled with an eBook reader thingy so I can borrow books from the library, and downloaded 3 full albums over wifi that I purchased on my computer. And then listened to one of them for about 30 minutes on the way home.

Keep in mind, my model is the 4s, but I can't imagine that there would be that much difference between the two. My brightness is in the middle too, for what it's worth. I'm not sure what to suggest, but it does seem like you're losing a lot of juice for not doing much or anything.

I've had my mail accounts decimate my battery. Dead in 3 hours with zero use.

When it's working properly (today) I'm sitting on about 80% battery at 3:43pm with normal phone use and a couple hours of music listening.

Ya I don't think my battery is right I am going to go to apple on friday after work and see about getting swapped. If I give this to my wife and she gives me her 4s and the battery can't last the day. I may never hear the end of it

Regarding your email accounts, is this using push? Was there server issues that were causing the phone to struggle a bit to connect and drain the battery?

My email servers don't support push, so it is a non-issue for me, but I am always curious about how certain actions can impact the battery.

Well woke up this morning 640 Iphone 100 % did a hard reboot closed all apps. I have absolutely no notifications coming through. I have to physically go into messages to see if any are new. My screen brightness is pretty much dark set over the letter br.

as of 10 30 I am at 90 percent battery life after my normal 1 hour of streaming music and very light text messaging probably 25 ish total in and out.

So as of now I have saved 5 percent battery life. But I think its from not using the phone much we will see as the day progresses.

Andorid now has google maps with voice navigation. Why pay for expensive in car GPS when your phone does it for free (assuming your phone has GPS)?

Since it's an app, I would assume google would do it for the IPhone as well, despite android being run by google, any word on something like this coming down the pipe for Iphone?

That's been out for quite some time. Came standard on my Captivate. And yup, no reason to buy a GPS when you have it built into your phone.

I don't have a smart phone, only an Ipod, how do you know it's using your GPS system and not the cell phone tower location system, is it just assumed to be defaulted when that app is on?

Also, does it suck the life out of your battery?

Well, GPS is a pretty basic feature of smartphones. Not exactly sure how it works, but I can turn GPS on or off at will.

It does use the battery, for sure, but I have an adapter for the car when I'm using it for that, so doesn't really matter.

Edit: But that's not what this thread is about so back OT.
