Why would you buy an app instead of restoring from a backup in iTunes? I see the app has other functionality. But if all you want to do is transfer your data to a new phone, you get that for free.
My wife's game of Bejewelled was in the exact same state as it was on her previous phone. Really, it just works.

I know some apps, like some stupid games that I play from time to time, involve 'accounts' that are tied to the device, so if you buy a new phone you need to start all over as there is no system to transfer the account between devices.
I wonder if something like Phoneview would work to move those apps.

The ability to save game data comes in handy if say you get Angry Birds for the iPad, you can just port over the game data and you wouldn't have to start the game from scratch.
I only use this as an example for the app since the poster happened to mention that his game data was cleared when he upgraded. It's an app with many functions and this happens to be one of them.

I don't know a lot of people who have an Ipohne and have IOS 5.0
In regards to "Group Messaging"
A lot of my friends say they want to stick with BB is because of this. They like having a Group called "Hockey Pool", etc and just having that there all the time like a group chat.
AFAIK from asking yesterday, this is possible with the Iphone now? Can you rename that mass text/group chat to something?

Better disable Siri while your phone is locked if you don't want your friends picking up your phone and doing a "Send Boss Email 'Have sex with me plz'".

So just to confirm and not to sound too annoying here repeating the same question....
If I send a mass sms out to all of my IOS 5.0 users....I will get responses back int he same window? I won't get individual responses back like before?
Thanks

As long as you add each one to the original message when you send it.

My situation was a little unique. I was going from a 32 gig to a 16 gig, so space was a big factor for me. I have every photo and video I've taken for the last 3 years on my phone, so doing a full restore could have been problematic. I backed up my 3GS to my dropbox and my computer and am starting the 4S on a clean slate.

I understood the original request as moving from an iPhone 3G to an iPhone 4S, so a restore would work in that scenario. If you want to move game data from an iPad, I could see wanting an application for that.

The other thing you could do, is back up your photos & such and then delete them from the phone if you wanted to transfer all your other settings.

Take this for what it's worth, but I swear my 3GS battery life actually improved with iOS 5.
What am I doing wrong with reminders? I thought you could attach locations to them even on the older phones, but I have been unable to figure that out. I can only put a date and time on it.

A developer confirmed this for me - only the 4, 4s, and iPad2 have the correct hardware to do the low-power location determination required.

Go to reminders. Hit the + or go to a previous reminder and click the Remind me button (where theres a time)
Hit ON for the toggle "At a location".

That's how mine started out. I don't know exactly what it was that fixed it but I did the following:
1. In the notification settings change the # of listed items around
2. Remove the calendar from the notification list and then re-add it
I had to do both of those things a few times and it stopped.

My Ipad 2 doesn't do location reminders, only my iphone 4...
Also, refering back to the last page, I didn't lose my progress in Angry Birds.
