For those that got the shipping notification, did your status change to in progress earlier this week or on Thursday? I was 186 originally for the 32gb black and my status was changed to in progress yesterday but I have not received any email indicating it has been shipped.
iMessages update: Turns out you do get iMessages on multiple devices but they have to message you at your email and not your phone number.
I figured that out last night but it is really a pain to let all you contacts know that. Hopefully there will be a way to have all iMessage go the the iCloud and then pushed to the iDevices. Wishfully thinking on my part but one can dream
So glad about all this iPhone stuff. Perfect timing on my part to have a new device shipped to a Rogers store for pickup. Been trying to call all morning to ensure they have it. Yeah...busy...busy...busy...
I know it's always bigger/better/faster every year with the iPhone, but I'm always amazed (and somewhat baffled) that people line up and go through the same gold rush for the new model every year.
Yeah, it's the best phone on the market, and yeah it's the jesus phone, but I'm constantly surprised that people are willing to take a day off work to wait in line when it will be readily available in 3-4 weeks. Is your old iPhone really that bad?

I just got back from the Apple Store at Market Mall. The line wasn't bad at all... maybe 40 deep. Took about an hour and I was in and out. I did change my mind at the last second to get a 32gb instead of a 16gb.
The thing that bothers me about iMessage is this scenario, that I encountered while running the beta firmware.
My friend has an iPad that he loaded the beta on. We used that to send some iMessages back and forth.
So now, when I go to try and text him, he doesn't get my texts because it automatically tries to send it via iMessage regardless of the fact that I'm really trying to text him. If in fact he's getting the text message, I don't know that's the case because it defaults to iMessage. This is one of those things where there should be a definite switch to let me decide if I want to text my friend or send him an iMessage.

Good call on the larger storage, an 8MP camera and 1080p video recorder will eat up 16GB in no time.

But why should it matter? Isn't the point that he gets the message? Doesn't iMessage tell you if it's been sent and or read like BBM?
