For some reason, I always find it excrutiatingly funny when senior posters get banned.

So why did Adam Peddle get banned?
Or is he back under a new handle?

People sometimes find it impossible to harness their true selves, to "flip their behaviour" as you say. They eventually return to who they really are, in spite of their best efforts. They can't help it.

You're still on the watchlist for stealing the Bob Saget avatar......

I honestly see more value in temp bans than permabans. Permabans simply force the person to get a new alias and makes it harder for the mods to monitor the person.
Temp bans actually make it more likely for the offender to "wait out" their sentence, rather than simply signing up for a new account.

I've never been a fan of the perma-ban. Long hiatuses, sure. I suppose I don't have to police the offenders so its easy for me to say, but I don't think perma-banning Lanny, or Shergill for that matter, helps the site. If someone really doesn't get it (and I suppose Lanny fits in there to some extent) they'll have to be removed, but Shergill provided some of the greatest entertainment ever in the course of a few hours!

It doesn't really require the services of Sherlock Holmes to figure out who Cluelessboy is, does it?
Come on, can you mods at least pm him and ask him to phrase his thread title questions in a way that looks like an adult wrote it?

I gotta say 4x4 amazes me. He knows who every new poster is and what happened to all of the old ones. I don't even mean that sarcastically....its impressive!

(I still have no idea who clueless boy is, depsite your implying its obvious!)

I've always wondered what happens when you get banned. When you visit CP do you go to a special webpage that details your banning? Do you get to see what's going on here while not being able to post? That'd be the worst, I think.

Sometimes I wish I could be banned so people on CP would ask where I'm at. Sigh.

It displays a page with why you've been banned/suspended, as well as a timeframe as to when the suspension will be lifted if applicable.

If you log out then you can browse the forum like any other user.

Unless I ban the IP address, which doesn't happen often but does happen (for very extreme things).

If you try to login it says your banned with time/reason (general phpbb function). You can still come to the site without logging in and browse like a regular joe-noname
