A few of questions:
1) I assume I can just keep using my plan with the new phone? (I've never done a hardware upgrade)
2) Does it come with the micro SIM or do I have get that from Fido?
3) How do you switch the phone number from the old SIM to the new micro SIM?
|
1) Yes.
2) In store they would give you a SIM card (apple store)..online you probably have to get a Micro Sim yourself, unless theres an option for carrier sim when checking out
3) When you have your micro sim you change the sim card on your fido my account page on fido.ca. It will ask for the digits on the sim card which you enter and then the old sim is deactivated and the new sim is active.

Lol, so looking forward to the Wi-Fi Sync right?
Well it's great, except you can't Wi-Fi sync unless the iPhone is connected to power!
So I plug in my iPhone to the cable that I use to charge and sync through USB...

My face is a bum!

I'm pretty sure I read it has to be connected to power. No problem, it'll synch while I've got it charging for the night.

4S looks sweet, A5 is pretty much my only reason, dual-core in my pocket will do.
Pre-Ordered mine a few days ago. Don't care much for OS, hopefully once they've released a stable Jailbreak (Green Poison I countin on you baby), cydia will have some sweet up-gs for it.

I'm guessing they anticipated the wifi sync backup power plugin problem... they seem to mention it quite a bit.

I have done Manual syncs on my iPhone (Drag and drop music etc) without a power cord....so unless its just a full sync that needs power, IDK?

ok, my phone did this a couple of weeks ago when I went to the apple store to replace my phone, but on restoring the phone, most of the apps are still missing. They show up on my account in iTunes on the computer as having been backed up, back it also won't let me drag and drop them onto the phone from within iTunes. I can add them all manually from the phone, but that takes a long time, but its what I did a couple of weeks ago.
Any ideas?

I've been able to sync my devices all throughout the beta without plugging into power. I have my iPad sitting beside me syncing to iTunes right now as we speak, no cables attached to it for anything.
I know the "auto" backup to iCloud will only take place if you're plugged in for power, but that's the "auto" backup and that's for device backups to iCloud, not just simple syncs with iTunes.

I'm pretty sure I do, the phone is not hooked up to the computer right now to check.

It needs to be. You also need to checkmark Enable Wifi Sync.

They might have changed it for release then, on the Apple page it says it'll sync when it's plugged into power, and if I go into the iTunes Wi-Fi Sync area in the Settings, the "Sync Now" button greys out when I remove power, then re-enables when I plug it back in.

Could you restore from backup and get them back? That shouldn't roll back the OS version.
