Yeah, that game against the Patriots showed me that the Chargers have more than enough talent to compete with anyone. But there does seem to be a lack of that intangible factor where players step up and make a big time play, or lack the discipline to not screw up in a key situation. If someone like Bill Cowher was coaching that team, I think you'd get that Superbowl team that people have been waiting to see.

Any Lions fans want to lend me a paper bag, I think I'll need it for the rest of the season.

Cleveland quarterback Colt McCoy threw a team-record 61 passes yesterday . . . I wonder what good comes from throwing so often that offensive flow and balance take a hit. McCoy completed a team-record 40 of those throws, breaking Tim Couch’s mark of 36 set in 2002 at Tennessee, so it’s not as if he was totally ineffective. But he agreed the offense needs more balance by mixing the standard dink-dink-dink of the West Coast offense with the punishing run, and also taking shots downfield.

To be fair, the game was over as soon as they passed the ball to Jones. That play had to go for a quick 20 yard pass to exactly the sideline for a quick step out of bounds, or to the end zone.
Detroit only had to guard the sidelines 20+ yard away from the line of scrimmage, and the end zone.
Although, Dallas could have caught a quick pass up the middle, with another teammate very close to the reciever. Then as soon as the player catches the ball, they call "down" (or kneel) to end the play, and have the two players snap the ball to each other quickly for the next down and spike the ball, with all of the Dallas players freezing and setting just before the snap, no matter where they were on the field. They would take a 5 yard penalty for not having enough players on the line of scrimmage, but it would stop the clock, (and most importantly, there wouldn't be a 10 second runoff of the clock).
Or, did that "loophole" get closed?

The Lions' 6-2 start in 2007 tells me it's still too early to be giving those away just yet. This team is no doubt better than that one, but still....

Hilarious how Tampa sold out Raymond James to see a Manning-less Colts team, but couldn't sell out Tropicana the same night for MLB play-offs. Also weird how the Bucs first sell-out in almost 2 years comes the same night baseball playoffs are in town. Makes sense.

I actually didn't realize Bob Sanders was out for the year for San Diego. I knew he got injured but hadn't realized he was put on IR 4 days ago. He lasted 1 game......he should just retire, getting ridiculous.

Yeah, the looks on the faces of Mathis and Freeney said it all. Ugly injury to Foster.

At first I thought it may have been dislocated, but it looked alot worse then that. Hopefully he recovers fully, I hate to think that it could have been a career ending injury

Maybe I've been spoiled for the last decade of watching Peyton Manning, but Curtis Painter is not an NFL quarterback

Why do teams bother challenging when Ron Winter is the ref. I don't think he's ever overturned a call in his life.

Good win for the Bucs, but 100 yards in penalties made this game way closer then it should have been. Freeman was clutch again, and Blount has continued to improve every week.
