A lot of innocent people could be helped with the resources used to reform this one multi-killer.

Apparently you have no idea how much it actually costs to put someone to death

I'm sure that the portion of your tax money that is used to send this girl to university is much, much less than 100%..... Your contribution to her education is probably less than a tenth of a penny per year.

Put me in the category of "I don't know what do with her"... Guess you can't put down 12 year-olds, but I don't think you can rehab a psychopath either...

Guys there's a reason why the media isn't naming this person - so why would you think it is OK to put the name up here?
If anyone posts the name of the girl again they will be given a vacation from the site. Stuff like this can cause heaps of trouble.

Yup, some pretty seriously "out there" stuff. Not sure she should just get to live her life while her parents and 8 year old brother are gone. Just doesn't seem fair to me.
Then again, who said life was fair.

Just curious, is it less than keeping them alive for a life sentence for a crime that is sickening?

Life isn't fair, but hopefully some politicians and courts can make it 'fairer'.
The main problem i have with her was that she wasn't just a bystander, sitting in the car while her psycho boyfriend killed and stabbed her family to death. she was the one who plunged the knife into her brother. just sick.

Hey, here's something to think about. If you knew one of your kids would be the demise of you one day, would you have kids? Everytime one of your kids is born, you'll be looking at him/her and asking yourself, "Will you be the one to vanquish me?"

Maybe you should post this in the "tips for new parents" thread.

That sounds like a plot line twist from the video game I'm playing right now.
Hopefully I can vanquish the offspring, and still save the princess.

Maybe all you Canadians leave the room, and the rest of foreigners with nothing to fear can continue the discussion.
On a completely unrelated note, has there ever been anything lamer than goth culture?

There has to be some sort of law to protect single guys from hitting on this crazy b!tch. Maybe there is a website somewhere that lists all these crazies so we all know to stay well clear.

Her ability to attend school will help her fit back into society, which should be the goal of any incarceration.
I think you should also mention that she didn't do this alone. She had a 23 year old boyfriend who was given three life sentences.
|
No, the purpose of incarceration, imo, should be punishment. 12 or not when it occurred, she should be in prison a lot longer than this.
And 3 concurrent life sentences is not adequate punishment for what that guy did- Hanging him by the balls in public square on the other hand...

I have read before that it is. The cost of a trial seeking the death penalty is more money than keeping one in prison for life.

Yeah, she is pretty good looking, and very scary. So, those intrepid ones among you looking to earn the $10 bounty better pack a gun... just in case.

Social media and gossip will ensure she'll be a social outcast.
Unless she's hot. Then she'll be demonized by the women and hunted like a trophy by the men, just so they can say nailed the crazy murderer.

Every study I've seen has shown that (at least in the United States) it costs less to imprison a criminal for life without parole than it does to enact the death penalty.
