I think that overpriced food is the norm in Calgary therefore it fits in on the scale of reasonably priced.
As for the wait for nachos and wings I agree 90 minutes is crap but that is more than likely an issue with a server or the kitchen being "slammed" as I have been told by servers at various restaurants when I have had to wait. Not really our concern but it becomes our problem. I would venture to guess that prior to that you had many positive or at least average visits to Boston Pizza. Everyone remembers the time that they had a poor experience and it causes them to quickly forget all of the positive ones before. I am as guilty of it as anyone. I still won't set foot in to Cattle Baron because of my last 2 outings there. Find me a restaurant that someone wouldn't have had a negative experience at at one point or another. It's life and these things happen.
The point to my comment however was for the most part Boston Pizza gets it right and it is an easy, affordable and convenient place to eat with the family.

I think all Coles are being gradually converted to small Indigo stores, like the one in The Core was. But it's typically the lowest end of the Indigo/Chapters franchise, so they're not going to put money into making over the stores unless they need to.

I had BP's appeal summarized to me once by my boss. Apparently Boston Pizza is a place where families with small children go because their kid can act like a total brat and since the dinning room is filled with similar families, no one gives a crap.
Also their menu is so diverse (Jack of all trades master of none kind of situation) and their restaurants typically so large, they are a category killer restaurant/pub for many suburban strip malls and smaller towns/cities.

They have a good kids menu .... unfortunately, that guides the majority of my eating out decisions.

I used to go to BP's because they were open late.

I think he means from a profit standpoint. Last year MCD brought in $24 Billion and Subway $15.

How about North Hill Mall? If it weren't for the old people in the condos, it would be more condos. Seriously walk down that mall and you can count on one hand the number of stores you would ever want to visit.

Speaking of crappy malls in the north, a couple of weeks ago, on a Saturday, I wanted to go to the Flames store in North Hill. I got there at 6:15 and the mall was already closed. What kind of BS crap mall closes at 6 on a Saturday in this day and age?

And freaks. When Brentwood mall basically ceased being a mall, all the r-tards started hanging out at North Hill. That place is gross.

One in Moose Jaw also right off the #1....speaking of Tramps....I think it is still a viable business in places like this also as I am pretty sure they are still in Regina etc.

Its the Fanattic that keeps this malls blood pumping. Now Westbrook on the other hand reminds me of a mall you would find in Edmonton.

Seriously what is up with that? Calgary has ridiculously high restaurant prices. Not enough competition or just collusion?

I forgot about those ... guess it shows the relevance of Northland Mall to me and it is the closest mall to my house. I suppose the CHR dialysis unit would save that end of the mall as well. Just knock down two thirds of it then.
I remember when Woolco (or whatever the store that used to be where Walmart is now) closed down, I thought that mall was destined for the bulldozer, it was a ghost town, Walmart saved it.

I thought they would be put out of business by Walmart, Superstore etc. Maybe Target will seal the deal.
