I was struck by this picture, showing Bin Laden in 1972. Looks like an Arabic version of the Family Stone.
It may be my aging eyes but I can't help but notice all of the noses, there are some honkers. And I would vouch for them resembling the show "Good Times", dy-no-mite!

It's a black and white picture that's been colorized though. The original colors probably weren't so fresh and funky. Is that Prince in the back? And Ponch?

Except good Times was about a super poor black family living in the projects. These guys are super wealthy. Maybe they just moved on up to the east side.

more like tried to move on up into into the West bank.
Great article in the upcoming New Yorker about the mission which took down bin Laden. The reporting done here is just fantastic, meticulous right down to the last detail. A longer read, but a very good one if you've got about 10-15min to kill.

I was just reading this and came to post the link. What a great article.
I have to wonder about its accuracy, though. Obviously the operation was (and is) highly classified, and I doubt any of the people in the know are that willing to discuss accurate details with a reporter. Do you think the exact details of the operation like mission briefings, AARs, helmet cam footage (if it actually exists), etc. will ever be released publicly in our lifetimes?

Hard to say, though one would hope so. I forget the exact number, but in the States there's X amount of years before government documents (though I'm sure not all of them) can be made public.
As for the accuracy, I'm sure its not 100%. Considering bin Laden and his wives didn't have any weapons on them in his room, I have trouble believing both his son and his courier came at the team with AK's, I have a feeling this was probably just said to make them look better for having probably shot unarmed men (though its understandable given the situation and the magnitude of the operation).
