More Dallas cuts, but no surprise:
@AdamSchefter: Busy day in Dallas: Calvin Watkins reports the Cowboys have told WR Roy Williams they will be releasing him.

Barnett will land a job somewhere as he is a very good cover guy and adequate as a run stopper. Vikings always seem to sign ex-Packers but I wouldnt be surprised to see him end up in Detroit either.

Always liked Barnett, even after his little "photo gate" at the Super Bowl last year. I hope he does land on his feet but I agree Hawk and Bishop are better first in the 3-4. It'l be too bad if he does wind up in the division but would make sense as I see him going back to a 4-3 team. I'm expecting Tauscher will get his release as well as I remember reading the Pack are just a shade under the cap so between Barnett and Tauscher it would clear about 9 mill, plenty to sign the rookies, Crosby etc.

Cards kicker Jay Feely weighs in on the Palmer situation.
Quote:
"Just a thought," Feely tweeted, "if an African American receiver were doing same thing as Carson Palmer, would there be so many people defending his actions?"

He also acts like an attention seeking primadonna all the time though so it comes across as another cry for attention. Has Palmer ever been known as a guy to demand that people pay attention to him etc.? Maybe I'm forgetting something but I don't recall that being the case in the past.

Dominik said he expects cornerback Aqib Talib to report to training camp on time. Talib was charged with aggravated assault in Texas in March and faces trial next March. Dominik said he has spoken to Talib’s agent, but has not spoken to the player or his lawyer in the criminal case.

I think the Rams should chase after Santonio Holmes....perfect kind of guy for Bradford IMO.

The Eagles will not pursue any of their own free agents, including starters such as Stewart Bradley, Quintin Mikell and Sav Rocca and backup running back Jerome Harrison, the Inquirer has learned.
Other free agents who the team will not re-sign include Dimitri Patterson, Nick Cole and Max Jean-Gilles, all of whom played significant amounts last season, but struggled at their positions

I wouldn't mind Holmes but a lot of these guys have off field issues. I mentioned Plaxico because he was on the Giants when Spags was the defensive coach there, maybe a connection?
Sidney Rice is another name, some injury concerns but he's less of a headcase. Donnie Avery and Mark Clayton are two good players just surround them with the #1 target, with mcdaneils pass happy offense we could win the division.

Terms of Jackson's deal were not available but, according to the sources, the former Minnesota Vikings quarterback will sign the contract Friday night. The Seahawks had no comment on the move.

I believe in the Jays.

Sounds like the Asomougha sweepstakes are down to the Texans and Jets. Texans have the bigger offer tabled, while the Jets can offer the best chance to win, but with a pay-cut. Interesting. I'm sure other teams could still jump in the running with an offer.

Revis and Asomugha would be a pretty lethal backfield.
So as a Titans fan I'm not sure how I feel about the possibility of Hasselbeck being the QB. I guess their isn't many options out there and you can't go into camp with Locker and Smith as your front runners for starting QB. He could be a good mentor for Locker.

Hooo boy. Jackson and now reports of Leinart also agreeing to terms with Seattle. QB by comittee. So a former player of Carroll and one of Bevell, the new OC. Will take some time to digest. Wasnt super high on Kolb but there are bigger question marks with any of the 3 guys they have now.

Colts sign 2 QB's: Former 49 draft pick Nate Davis and former University of Kentucky QB Mike Hartline. Both of those guys will compete with Curtis Painter for the backup QB position.
