Per the Los Angeles Times, an agreement on a document that keeps the downtown stadium project on track for 2016 has been reached.

Potential candidates for a move to L.A. include the Chargers, Bills, Vikings, and Rams. The Raiders and 49ers also could be in play, based on the manner in which stadium efforts unfold in the Bay Area. The Jaguars also could be in the mix, despite consistent denials from owner Wayne Weaver of any interest in moving the team or selling it.
The Vikings could move to Los Angeles — or anywhere else — after the 2011 season. It’s the last year of their Metrodome lease.

Don't know where Schefter is getting his info from, but I'm pretty sure he's the only one surprised by this. Don't think anyone expected them to keep Davis.

would love the Raiders to pick him up and pair him with Miller, power running team and they all ready use a lot of two TE sets, if both TE's could be elite receivers it would be very dangerous. There is the Hue Jackson connection as well and supposedly some interest from the Raiders side.
also the Bengals are calling Carson Palmer's bluff

Mike Brown: Carson Palmer is retired

The latest news is no news on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer.
Bengals owner Mike Brown and head coach Marvin Lewis met with the media Tuesday to discuss the start of the 2011 season. Both confirmed that they remain in a stalemate with Palmer, who demanded a trade this past January and threatened to retire.
"He has retired. I wish him well," Brown said, via Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer. "If he is going to walk away from his commitment, we're not going to reward it."
This is the same hard-line stance the team has held with Palmer the entire offseason. Palmer certainly would have suitors, but the Bengals are not interested. Palmer is due to make $11.5 million if he decides to play for Cincinnati this season. But Palmer doesn't seem interested in that.

I don't understand the bengals thinking here. The guy is never going to play for you again, why wouldn't you attempt to improve your team via trade? Unless they think that he is indeed bluffing it really doesn't make sense. You want to stick it to him, fine, but your also doing your own team a disservice by not using him to acquire assets.

I certainly understand why Palmer wants out of Cincy, but holy crap is he being an ass about how he is trying to accomplish it.
That being said, there is NO WAY the Bengals can just allow him to stay "retired" and not negotiate a deal with someone to get a return on him...that would be beyond assinine. That club and their history of mediocrity and inability to build anything long term simply cannot afford to sit on an assett that could easily garner a return better than a Kolb or someone of lower quality. Like him or not, Palmer has a pretty good career going in comparison to most NFL QB's and he isnt an "old" guy yet.
Maybe a good fit in Minny to mentor Ponder for a couple years as an example AND give that club a chance to be competitive at the same time.

Everything else I had read made it seem like he would be cut as well, and also as expected they have released Marion Barber.

Schefter is a professional liar who rides the coattails of guys like Mort and Clayton at ESPN
he's an arrogant dbag as well, heard him on Bill Simmons podcasts a few months ago and he just came off horribly
one of those guys that thinks he is the attraction, not the NFL

That all may be true to a point....but he is definately connected at deep levels with several NFL people....he often breaks stuff way before his colleagues. Also he is paid very very well by the mothership, which is a bone of contention for some within that org.

No way does Palmer fetch anything close to what the Eagles will get for Kolb. Kolb has an incredibly attractive contract and is younger than Palmer. I'd also argue that, with his age and the fact that Palmer has been pretty mediocre for the last three years, the upside for Kolb is much higher. You'd also have to consider the fact that the Eagles have basically said they can afford to keep Kolb as a backup this year, whereas the Bengals are pretty well forced to trade Palmer at this point.

Anyone that acquires Kolb will have to restructure his contract to reflect his status as a starting QB and the assets given up to get him. Thats just a given if you want the guy.
Palmer will definately garner a decent return....not sure why you would think anything else...the guy is a proven starter who has taken his team to the playoffs...two things Kolb cannot claim as of yet.

Going to be tough for any coach who came from outside to a new team to get things in place this season. I'm thinking the likes of Denver, and Carolina are going to be in for very tough seasons. Even the Niners might get off to a slow start despite the fact that Harbaugh will be a better coach than Singleterry. Conversely teams who don't make major changes to their core rostes likely will start off pretty well. Come the end of the season though it's going to be a case of who's hot and has it together who'll win.

Palmer's taken his team to the playoffs twice in seven years as a starter and has never won a playoff game, and has a below .500 career winning percentage. Not exactly what you'd expect out of a franchise quarterback. I understand that Kolb really doesn't have much to show for in his career so far, but Palmer is clearly declining. With the way he's holding the Benglas hostage, I'd be shocked to see him net more than a second or third round pick.

Packers have told Nick Barnett he will be released or traded. Not a huge surprise with the emergence of Desmond Bishop as an ILB last year and then him signing an extension. It also opens up 5 million under the salary cap...something TT needs moving forward.
Barnett will land a job somewhere as he is a very good cover guy and adequate as a run stopper. Vikings always seem to sign ex-Packers but I wouldnt be surprised to see him end up in Detroit either.
