My poison of choice is black brewed or americano, timmy's "coffee" pretty much my last resort when there are no McD's/Second Cup/Starbucks around, I've had better coffee from superstore's no name instant coffee.

I like combining the two. Brewed coffee with a shot of espresso.

The TDL Group Corp.
I wrote the exact same email to them and got the exact same response. Tim Horton's hit my banned restaurant list many moons ago. I have to give props to McD's, they do surprisingly make a good cup of mud. Starbucks is too bitter. Second Cup makes a good Latte. Apart from that it's Kicking Horse home brew for me.

The fact is Tim Horton's is only good if you get a DD with tons of fatty cream and sugar. Otherwise it tastes like burnt garbage.

I like the Chili combo for lunch.

And the breakfast sammiches.

The coffee's only mediocre, especially if you don't get the "cream" (which I'm pretty sure could mask even starbucks' burnt coffee taste.

I dont' think it is just those stores. I was in Victoria and Kelowna recently and they had the good lids. I think it might be a BC thing.

It's all about lid placement. If the tab is placed over the seam of the cup, you're gonna leak.

The worst is when you flip open the tab and it doesn't catch when you press it down. Then it scrapes your nose while you drink, until you realize you're an idiot and just rip off the tab entirely.

This! I agree with all of this.

TH Lids really grind my gears. Love the coffee though.

On my list of favorite places to buy coffee:

1) McDonalds
2) Timmies
3) A & W
4) Good Earth

I hate Starbucks, they act unprepared when you try to order a regular coffee and sometimes they don't even have any fresh. Second Cup is only good for specialty coffee.

It's not the food or the coffee that bugs me about Tim Hortons, it's their god-awful commercials. They come on TV or the radio and I slip into a rage blackout. They drive me crazy!

Tim's coffee is brewed from the tears of African slave children.

I used to love the chili but its pretty gross since they changed it. Now I catch myself ordering it the odd time in hopes that it has returned to its former glory only to be left disappointed yet again.

Is that when they added massive amounts of salt? I used to have that stuff once a week for lunch, but now it's practically inedible.

Is that why it tastes so good?

I have had a couple in Toronto at the airport in the past and they too had the better lids. The lids we get here are crap - they seem to leak whether or not the seam is near the opening or not.

On one occasion, surprisingly, I narrowly missed having my car smell like coffee for eternity. I was bringing some back for the office and had a drink tray mishap. An XL coffee fell onto the passenger side floor and made a dull thud. Somehow, the same lid that normally dribbles everywhere didn't even spill a drop.

I eat the chili all the time. It's filling, cheap, and not horrendously unhealthy. Don't think I ever tried the "old" kind, though.
The coffee is okay, probably the worst of the coffee chains but it'll get the job done.

If we had a contest for worst coffee in Calgary, I'd vote for IKEA.

Yup, I banned them a long time ago as well. I love kicking horse coffee and I get it when it's on sale. Once you have kicking horse (when you drink black coffee) you can't go back unless you are desperate. Cuba coffee is great too. It has a coco aftertaste.

For iced caps, brew your coffee at home and make ice cubes with it. Then get some vanilla and sweetened condensed milk. (all to your taste) Blend and serve. Better than any store bought crap and you control the ingredients.

I have a container in the freezer downstairs with coffee cubes in it. Good enough amount for 4 LARGE Ice caps.

StarBucks tastes like badly burnt semi dried 3 day old hobo urine.

They really need to clean out their coffee urns more then once a day.

For a premium coffee company that charges a premium, their coffee is outright embarressing
