Exactly.

Look at all the strong teams the Stamps had in the 90s who won nothing (or a lot less than they should have), but the 8-10 2001 team, which started the season at 5-9, won the Grey Cup because they went 6-1 after Thanksgiving.

I have high expectations for Burris regardless if its warrented or not. He is a longtime vetran with a top recieving core. He has pretty much seen every kind of defence. Yet he still makes rookie mistakes it is inexcusable at this point. That exchange with Reynolds was extremely stupid and a complete lack of focus on Burris.
Dickinson's play calling with Forzani rubbed me the wrong way. He is a rookie and should be used accordingly. Forzani was thrown to more times than any vetern reciever and it cost the Stamps several times. I don't care who he is related to it was obvious Burris was instructed to look his way. Its not like he is Allen Pitts this garbage if it continues will result in a losing season.
Bright spot was definatly Talley and Taylor. Nik was a beast as usual. Oline played better than the Argo game but needs to keep improving. D was outstanding in the first half. D cord changed the schemes and stopped applying QB rushes and it showed with BC moving the sticks with ease. Great job with that rookie kicker nailing that 50 and the 26 yrd like it was nothing.

Did you enjoy the game at all? I thought it was a great game. The lows of the first half and then the highs of the second half was so cool.
I did enjoy some of the game, and some of the game was frustrating.
After the last interception, the game should have been over. Fumbling away the ball was frustrating.

I will try to post a more positive thought after the next game; I really want my shiny "fan" badge back.

I missed the game except the dramatic part at the end. Nice to see our kicker Paredes is hitting a 50-yards field goal with no effort. The guy can kick the ball. I also saw when BC scored a TD only to missed a 2-points convert. The Paul McCallum's missed field goal, and the Burris to Reynolds fumble.

They only played two games yesterday and I don't think it is fair to give them the mark yet. Stamps made a lot of off-season moves and I think they are still trying to get their plays in control. I give them 2-3 games before I give them their mark.

There doesn't look to be a clear cut frontrunner in the West. All the teams have issues and the Eskimos actually look improved although they haven't faced a tough test yet as the Riders were horrible in game one and the TiCats are even worse this week. Stampeders have lots of time to work out some kinks but Burris and the offense should be better after all the years of working together.

It's true. BC and Saskatchewan are 0-2, Stamps is 1-1 while Eskimos who everybody picked to be last in the West won 2-0 so far. That tells you the season is still early. BC is struggling with their running game and their receivers are doing some dropsies. If this continues don't be surprise to see Jackson starting one day and Buono losing his job. I love it that the Riders are struggling so far. Darian Durant missed Andy Fantusz and Rob Bagg. Eskimos seems to be clicking but they will falter soon.

As for the Stamps, even though Burris still have Rambo, Bryant, Franklin and Lewis to throw to and Reynolds and Cornish to hand in the ball, we have to remember that the Offensive Line pretty much were revamped. Only Tim O'Neill pretty much played all season in the same positions. They have Cadogan and Bryant on the ends. Bryant played a few games last season while Cadogan was on practice roster. Steve Myddleton played a few games last season while J.Michael Deane is a rookie. So I guess blaming Burris for the inconsistencies of the offense is not fair. You put Calvillo on that line and I am sure he will struggle a bit as well. We have some speedsters in Romby Bryant, John Forzani and Rambo. Nik Lewis is still a dependable receivers while Parker is an up and coming receiver. Larry Taylor and Landan Talley are also an explosive receiver with speed. Too early to judge Burris and company. Defense is still gelling. They too lost a few impact players namely Browner and Anderson on DB, Tom Johnson on DLine while LB lost Malik Jackson in the first game.

I'm not a Burris hater in fact I'm a fan. When he's on his game he's the best QB in the league by a longshot due to all the things he can do but the problem always has been that you never know from game to game which Burris you will get which is disappointing at this stage of his career where he shouldn't be coming out of every preseason like he's in a new offense. I don't buy the offensive line argument as there have been many instances in the first couple of games where he's had plenty of time and missed wide open receivers especially deep. We saw the deep misses to Bryant in game one and against the Lions he had Reynolds wide open down the sidelines and all he had to do is put some air into it and it's a TD and he overthrows an easy pass guys like AC and even Ray make 10/10 times.

Look at AC for instance. What makes him the best? It's not his scrambling ability which is non-existant. It's not his arm strength which is average. It's his consistency. He drops back and gets rid of the ball quickly every time and it's always thrown where the receiver can catch it. If a receiver is wide open the ball will be thrown right into his hands and even when the receiver isn't open he puts it only where it can be catched by the receiver. Every year he's the same accurate guy and not surprisingly he's lighting it up again this year while Burris is making the same mistakes he was making his first year as a starter with the Riders a decade ago.

I like Henry a lot but I'm a Stamps fan above all and am getting tired of the same old Hank/Frank show every year as we all know what's going to happen this year which is start off with Frank then Hank lights it up in the middle of the season and Hank/Frank alternate down the stretch with Frank showing up every time they play the Riders in the playoffs. It's pretty sad that the only chance the Stampeders ever have to make the Grey Cup is if they don't meet the Riders in the playoffs but does anyone honestly have any confidence in Burris having a great playoff game against the Riders? I don't.

I never saw the injury but Stanley Franks career is done. Is pretty lucky to still have his leg actually. Won't be able to walk the same again.
