I was having that happen to me, talked to rep and he suggested to delete all my multitask icons. So double click your home key and then hold down an icon until the delete wobble comes up and then delete them all.

took me forever but has seemed to work and my battery has seemed to have leveled out.

I guess some of the apps stay running so doing this shuts them down? That's what i took from this.

Free App a Day FAAD

Not sure if it has been mentioned but it pulls up some really good games. SSG, TowerMadness HD as stated above. it sends an update once a day. the interface is really clunky but it does come through with the games.

Anyone know of a good app for flight prices in Canada? Looking for one where I can set alerts for flights to certain locations, and be alerted when they drop below a certain price?

Weather Doodle is an attractive weather app. Universal so it runs on iPads too.

That is all.

Yep. I assume you want a general review? It is good but if you are expecting something on par with the PC/Mac then you will be quite disappointed but for an app it is worth the dough.

I tried it on your recommendation, and I have to say I want my dollar back

It's nice enough, but the closest weather station is Springbank and it lacks the detailed information available in Weather Eye. It's rather useless for short term information which I use to plan every work day.

That's why I said attractive, and that's all

I believe the Calgary (Sundre) location is actually the Calgary airport, if you look at the map on the weatherbug website (which is where it gets its data from)

Anyone have Fring or Qik installed, and used to call an Android phone? How is it compared to FaceTime? I assume the wifi to wifi connection is pretty good, but what about 3g to 3g?

So with rdio everything seems cool, but I'm looking ahead at that $10/month and wondering why I should keep it? Aren't there a number of $10/month services out there anyway?

I think it depends on how you use it. If you just use it to mainly listen to the stuff you already have in iTunes or you just use it to skim the new Tuesday releases then perhaps not.

For me it's the discovery. I can assure you I did not spend $120/year on music, but finding bands I had never heard of before has already been worth it for me. I love digging into peoples collections or playlists and seeing what they like. I also like going into a CP thread about music and finding a recommendation and being able to listen to the album in its entirety while at work or on the train without having to make a note of it.

DOn't want to try and read through the whole thread.

Nagivation Apps, which is the best?

Navigon seems to have the best reviews, but how much better is it than one of the really cheap nav apps? What do I get for the $45, and what other add ons are nice to have/ good value?

Which ones have the maps downloaded onto the phone?

Anything else I should know?

I listen to Rdio every day, all day at work. Being able to think of a song and just go listen to it is nice, but one of my favourite parts of Rdio is when I hear a good song on the radio, TV or someone tells me about something, I try to find it on Rdio. Sometimes it leads me to a band I'd never have thought of and listen to their entire collection (Black Mountain is a great example). Or sometimes it's a one hit wonder, and I didn't waste time downloading or buying it. And probably 80% of the time the song/artist is on Rdio.

When it comes to $10/month services, I'm not sure how many give you the level of interaction and selection of Rdio.

I like Tom Tom myself. Pretty sure you can pick up the Canada/Alaska version for relatively cheap (about $40-$50?)

I was using MotionX GPS Drive as my cheap gps ($3) but found there was a little bit of "you get what you pay for" bleeding in. I feel it's the best value for what you get, but when it comes to gps apps I'm willing to pay a lot more to get a little better. The Motion X app doesn't store the maps on the phone (pluses and minuses there), and spoken directions are available as an in-app purchase (about $20/year). The thing that killed the app for me was the interface. I constantly had to think to get around, which is generally a bad thing.

In the end I prefer Tom Tom. I'm not in love with the look of it, but it's relatively intuitive.

New Angry Birds- Seasons today. Needs a wifi connection to download; anybody know how to tell my iPhone that I'm not concerned with the bandwidth?

They've been busy, all three versions of Angry Birds have gotten new levels in the past week or so I think.

I thought the other two updates were not levels; just "enhancements."
