I won't go into the faux pas of Michelle not wearing a hat as she visited the Queen. It's traditional and a show of respect but Michelle has not shown decorum in the past with wardrobe choices, so why expect it now? She's American so it's not such a big deal. And, as long as the Washington Post continues to write stories that she is the most fashionable First Lady ever, well, that's that.
Yeah, that Obama family are real failures at foreign policy. Horrendous! A travesty!
That blog isn't bias and petty in the least. No sir.

Palin was a good Governor of Alaska. When she left it was because of the personal lawsuits Democrats were throwing at her. She would have gone bankrupt defending herself on a govenor's salary. She would have easily won a second term if she remained.
Since Palin has left public office she has wrote a book, got a job at Fox, and had a huge influence in the midterm elections. Palin has earned millions and the law suits have stopped. Palin right now is touring the country with a whole press core following like lap dogs hoping for a few scrapes. She won't even give them a schedual of her stops. While on the road she is collecting money for her Super Pac which will give her an enormous leverage in determining the next republican candidate for president.
All and all I'd say she has done pretty good for a girl from Sandpoint Idaho who grew up in an equally obscure town in Alaska. You can call it fluke but, what she has done and where she has gotten doesn't happen by chance.
Even her being chosen as McCain's VP candidate wasn't all fluke. She had improved the wealth of the Alaskan State while at the same time increasing the wealth of every Alaskan. She had pulled this off without huge amounts of pork from federal coffers. McCain had lots of experience with foriegn policy and had been conservative when it came to spending. What Palin offered was someone who had been successful in running an economy. That something Obama didn't have then and still doesn't now.

No she is STTTTUUUUPID. Say it. It will make you feel better. Stupid. Sarah Palin is stupid. Look how stupid she is. Stupid. Listen to all the stupid things she says. Stupid.
She's not like Obama who is so smart he has visited all 57 states and enjoys speaking Austrian.
Now back to unleashing the "Hidden Agenda" in Canada on those lefty wankers!
How did Palin manage to improve wealth in an oil rich state, crazy hard. Its like Klein, how did he ever manage to do all he did, oh wait, oil.
You truly think Palin knows anything about running an economy? If she for example sat at the helm as president during the recent economic crisis would you imagine her doing anything less than a disastrous job?
What Palin offered was someone who had been successful in running an economy. That something Obama didn't have then and still doesn't now.
This is a very short-sighted view. Palin was not voted in as the governor of Alaska when their economy was spiralling into the toilet at a velocity not seen since the great depression. Obama has basically inherited the worst-case scenario thanks to the Bush administration and was expected to resolve it in a matter of weeks (you'd think, the way you hear some people ranting, anyway).
Palin was chosen to garner the the youth and female vote. Unfortunately, Obama garnered the same vote, as well as the votes of most people who didn't much care to vote previously because they felt they were really being given the choice of "Bowl of Poo #1" or "Bowl of Poo #2".
What's worse is that Palin demonstrated very publicly that she was not the sharpest tool in the shed. The risk of voting in John McCain (who many predicted wouldn't survive his first term) and ending up with "President Palin" was a scary thought.

Versus the current POTUS who spent more money in his first years as POTUS than all the Presidents from George Washington up to Bush....and now the economy is double dipping recession.
Actually, I will be honest here....it wasn't him. He showed his leadership stripes by punting to Pelosi and Reid. He is the punting/golfing president. But thank goodness for the March Madness brackets info he so graciously parted unto us unwashed!
Umm..... yes I truly think she would have done better. It COULD NOT BE WORSE.
Barack Obama holds a wide lead over any potential Republican rival according to the latest Ipsos/Reuters poll. Much can happen between now and fall 2012, of course.
" What we are seeing here is a hard working Governor"
SHE IS SO STUUUUPID!!!!
There was this guy who used to work at the local Ford dealership in my hometown. He used to detail cars at an unbelievable rate with an uncanny attention to detail. Nicest guy in the world, too.
He was also dumb as a bag of hammers.
But he was a hard worker.
"Hard worker" and "stupid" are not mutually exclusive.
And I didn't call Obama dumb; I called him ignorant.
So, he arrived early in England, accidentally wrote 2008 instead of 2011, had a slight mis-cue on his toast, Michelle Obama didn't wear a hat, some bizarre complaint about his speach not acknowledging the Suez Canal "conflict" in 1956, and a minor diss-ing by Medvdev?

She went to the oil companies who were demanding concessions and had been for years before they would develop some of their holdings. She forced them to develop now or lose the right-away they needed for a pipe line to their wells. Basically their oil would be worthless.
She then raised taxes on them. Yes that's right! A republican raised taxes on oil companies. She than took a part of that tax revenue and distributed it evenly to every Alaskan young and old in the form of yearly oil revenue checks.
Pretty common sense moves from a simple country girl but, very effective.
LOL at the people who think Obama is any better/different than Bush.....
Anyways, Sarah Palin is nothing but a side show. She's a celebrity and nothing more. She attached herself to the tea party movement, but they don't take her seriously either....
Mitt Romney and Rick Perry will be your major players in the republican party when election time rolls around.

She not running. So don't wet yourself.
Barak Obama will likely Golf for another 4 years on the public tab.

There's two things I have to say.
1. The Republicans F'ed the economy by de-regulating the stock market allowing such things like the mortgages that were given out from 2000 on. That caused the recession. Just because someone has a business background does not mean they are good with money....
2. The amount of capital out there is staggering. Unlike in the depression, where the rich were the hardest hit in terms of the % of their finances (everybody got killed because of the market, but a large portion of the upper class lost everything)
The problem today is with the groups that got hit in this recession. The two groups that got nailed the most were the poor and the remnants of the middle class. The rich have gotten away from the hit pretty much unscathed. The sensible thing to do in a case like this would be to increase taxes on the segment that was the least affected (the rich) in order to funnel some cash into some spending projects, like creating new bridges in the places where they all seem like they're about to fall down.
Obama didn't spend enough money back when the bailouts were given out and it did a partially good job, but not enough to really kick start things. That's why things have been recovering for the past two years, but haven't continued to recover.
The problem is that the republicans are wanting to bend the poor and middle class even more, but leaving the rich alone. It is madness. It will destroy the country. People will riot, people will go crazy. You can't have such a thin group of elite and the other 99+% of the population getting really worked over. Things like that led to the American and French revolutions. Not exactly a good idea to incite things to go down that path.
It's not like it'll take much to get things started, do two things. Let the bush era tax cuts expire, and decrease the corporate tax rate two or three percent but get rid of every loop hole. Funnel that money directly into spending projects on infrastructure like roads, bridges, laying high speed internet cable, and even possibly high speed rail between cities that are close together like on the east coast.
The worst time to worry about the deficit is during a recession, you're supposed to spend your way out of it. Hoover didn't and look what happened. It wasn't till FDR started spending like a crazy person that things started to get better.
