I am usually at the bike/eating breakfast most of the time. From time to time I'd swim if I really feel down that morning.

Today will be the third day exercising and the body is aching for a lot more exercises!
I know what you mean. I crashed my bike three weeks ago training for the ride to conquer cancer and dislocated my elbow. Got my splint off at the end of last week and hadn't done any exercising for 2 1/2 weeks. I decided to go for a run on Saturday as I was a little worried about blowing out my elbow on a bike. I went for an hour run, but it was crazy, my legs have been sore for the last three days. I finally got back on my bike today and it felt great. I'm getting back on the road...

Great job everybody!

I have hit a bit of a plateau, but I will power through it.

Keep up the good work everybody. The successes of others are great motivation!

One annoyance I've run into in trying to curve my eating habits has been that I don't experience this. Everybody talks about it so it must be true, but if I give up a certain food for an extended period of time I could always go back to it and feel relatively ok. I wish it made me feel ill to eat it again.

After about 6-8 months of really poor habits, I'm getting back on the wagon. Joined the gym and have begun eating better. Hoping to become much healthier and drop about 25 pounds.

You ride the bike and eat breakfast for four hours? I don't know what your goals are, but that seems like a pretty odd workout routine. I'm generally of the opinion that if you're at the gym for more than an hour you aren't working hard enough while you're there, but I also make a point of working cardio into my weight routines.

If you want to get in better shape, start going to the gym and keep everything else the same. Then, as you get into the swing of things, you can alter your diet slowly. You might start changing your pre and post workout meals. Then, move on to cut out one thing at a time from your diet that is unhealthy. If you try to change everything all at once, odds are you will get discouraged and give up quickly. The key is to always try and make slow progress.
Good to hear I always thought that with a bad diet that just running will kind of "offset" the bad eating so I don't put on more weight but don't lose weight either.

the recipe is as simple as it gets

1 italian spiced chicken breast from walmart (walmart brand) $23/per box
1 cup of hot salsa (walmart brand) 2.50 per jar
various amounts of cut up lettuce depending how hungry you are Under 3 bucks per packaged.

Go through 2 jars of salsa a week and 3 bags of lettuce. Diet is under 20 bucks a week it is great. Box of chicken lasts about 2 weeks

I highly reccomend the walmart hot salsa it is very spicy for an off the shelf salsa and it is the thick chunky kind without any of the weird stuff like corn and beans in it. Also when bbq the chicken if you put some tabasco sauce on it adds a little more flair

It is surprisingly awesome. I am a big nacho fan so the salsa has helped my cravings for some good nachos. Plus using salsa as your dressing is far healtier then regular salad dressing!

Just a bump. I'm excited today as I was stuck at -48 lbs for a week or two and I'm back down again! 21 lbs to go.

Congratulations! 50 lbs is a lot of weight! Imagine a 6 gallon pail of water no longer attached to your body!

Now, if I could get moving from my plateau.

Fundmark - what's the sodium intake on that little receipe of yours?

I have a deadly chicken wrap that I make but I'm always looking for other good healthy alternatives. I just worry about store bought seasoned chicken and salsa having too much sodium.

edit: Hilarious - while trying to google the sodium content the CP thread came up as a top result. Ha!

Today is a milestone for me also. I'm down 40 lbs as of this morning. Feels great to crack that barrier!

Costco sells some really tasty pre-made guacamole. It's I believe 95% pure avacado, tastes awesome, has low sodium, and works perfect on chicken wraps instead of butter/mayo.
