Usually no. But unless Rockstar completely screws things up, I'm sure it will rate close to the GTA series and Red Dead.
just so everyone knows... this game was NOT developed by Rockstar. It's been developed by Team Bondi. Team Bondi has never released a game before. LA Noire could be good, but to expect the usual Rockstar quality might be getting ones hopes up a little.
I don't like this shift to Linear gameplay. You pretty much have no options in steering a game's story in games like this. The new Final Fantasies are a good example of this. I long for the 16 bit FF's where I could go where I wanted whenever I wanted to.
I love it. When the story takes a back seat because of alternate endings and being able to go anywhere at any time I tend to lose interest pretty quickly. Fallout was a game a lot of people loved, but as soon as you stepped out of the fallout shelter the story took a backseat and the game lost most of it's appeal for me.
GameStop is an extra case plus a "badge pursuit challenge", which seems to be a standard "find some things that are hidden around the city and collect them all" type thing, and you unlock some stuff when you get them all.
WalMart is an extra case.
Amazon and Best Buy each have an exclusive suit and gun that improves some of you skills when you're wearing it.

Those are just for pre-order, wouldn't it be too late to do that now?
I wouldn't worry about that too much...I've been reading that most will be for sale on the marketplace at some point down the road.
I'm just going to pick Gamestop since it's the closest to my house and buy the other DLC after it comes available.
That would be nice. That was one thing about Red Dead that bugged me...in order to get certain items at all you had to buy it at a certain place, and they weren't put up as DLC.
For those that care, Futureshop is giving a $10 gift card/credit....BestBuy comes with a code to unlock the Sharpshooter Detective outfit which makes your aim with a rifle or pistol more accurate, GameStop/EB Games comes with a code to unlock a standalone case and an extra challenge that requires you to find and collect 20 badges across the city, which in turn will open up more stuff (not specific).
Can't find out what Walmart is offering.
EDIT: Yeah, as getback mentioned. And it does say pre-order, so you would have to go out and do that today in order to get the offers I would imagine.

I haven't looked at all of them, but they're usually for pre-orders and first-day sales...which is really just "first shipment" sales. Unless a store had a lot of pre-orders, they'll likely have some available with the bonuses even if you didn't pre-order.
I know I've purchased games and DVDs in the past that had "pre-order" exclusives attached to certain stores, and was able to get the pre-order stuff on the first day of availability in the store too.
WalMart's flyer is advertising that their bonus will be available while supplies last, and Best Buy's says that the code is in the game box, so it'll depend on how many pre-sales they had.

From the reviews I have read, it seems that no matter how much you fumble through the interviews you always end up stumbling to a resolution. Still, this game intimidates me a bit because I have never been any good at reading people.
Unless there is some kind of tutorial, I know I won't be able to tell when a person is lying.
EDIT: Also, Hockeyguy15 had it right, looks like most of this pre-order stuff will be up for DLC in the near future. I have a few games to trade in so I think I will just pick it up at the local EB Games.

it seems like pretty obvious stuff though (suspect will look away for a sec or glance nervously, etc)
From some of the review videos I have watched it looks like it is that way early on, but as you go deeper the suspects become more natural and difficult to read.
I have no clue how to tell if someone is lying in that instance. I guess I will see how it goes tomorrow. I am so desperate for a decent game (haven't bought anything since NHL 11, which was a huge disappointment).

It sounds like there is always a way to find a resolution to a case, but if you're not good at finding the clues, it might take you longer and you may have to search more than someone else who's able to piece things together more easily. You can also use your partner to point you towards things you may have missed, and you have "intuition points" that you can use to narrow down your options and things to make it a little easier.
Also, if you're logged onto the Rockstar Social Club, you can find out what other people have done when working the same case to give you some additional assistance.
There will also be audio cues when you get close to finding a clue, and a different cue that plays when you've found everything there is to find at a location.
Another thing I've read about the interogations, is that you still need to have some evidence that a person is lying before you can accuse them of lying, so it won't just be about reading the body language.

IGN's review notes that it's repetitive, you have little control or consequence over the outcome, and that it rarely puts it all together for those "wow" moments...and gives it an 8.5

I hate reviews like that.
Conflicted.
You only picked out the bad parts of the review. He liked the game a lot but claims it had some obvious flaws.
