Totally worth it, that picture would be such a hit at parties.

The photos will have passed through many hands (computers), it would not be hard for somebody to copy them over and leak them. Classified cables about both these recent wars were released, it's not a stretch to say the photos were.

I'm not saying it is or has happened, I'm saying it could happen.

Actually, if it was passed through numerous computers, it would be very tough to actually leak something. These photos would likely have to be processed through the JWICS or SIPRNet systems used in the U.S. intelligence community, which only allows top secret clearance for high-ranking individuals. These systems, especially after the Wikileaks fiasco, now embody a preventative measure whereby information cannot be downloaded to any stick device. Similarly, any email trails of photo transmissions now likely are tagged through heavy audit trails, one in which I doubt a high-ranking member would jeopardize their position at the top by letting this happen.

Such photos would be very hard to pass on through CIA / USIC computer networks unless someone wanted to get fired.

Fair enough.

Getting a higher resolution, enough to do facial recognition, is almost impossible due to atmospheric conditions. Unless, they are decades and decades and decades ahead....

But.....

It might explain what the USAF x-37 spacecrafts were doing in space in 2010 and 2011.

Details on the photos:

1. Photos of OBLs body at a hanger after he was brought back to Afghanistan. This is the most recognizable with a clear picture of his face. The picture is gruesome because he has a massive open head wound across both eyes. It’s very bloody and gory.

2. Photos from the burial at sea on the USS Carl Vinson. Photos of OBL before the shroud was put on and then wrapped in the shroud.

3. There are photos of the raid itself that include photos of the two dead brothers, one of OBLs dead son (adult adolescent, maybe approx 18 yrs old) and some of the inside scene of the compound.

The official says the challenge is that the picture that includes the most recognizable image of OBLs face – from the hangar in Afghanistan – is so gruesome and mangled its not appropriate for say the front page of the newspaper. On the other hand, this is the one that is most identifiable as him.

Hey, I'm not commenting on whether the story makes technological sense - just relating (presumably) the official story that appeared in the Herald. For all we know, Osama was actually seen by a human source, or someone ratted him out, and USGOV is just protecting the actual source (now $27M richer and living in an unknown location)...

Great read of how events unfolded from the head of the CIA :

http://swampland.time.com/2011/05/03...rly-on/?hpt=T1
Quote:
On Tuesday, Panetta assembled a group of 15 aides to assess the credibility of the intelligence they had collected on the compound in Abbottabad where they believed bin Laden was hiding. They had significant “circumstantial evidence” that bin Laden was living there, Panetta says — the residents burned their trash and had extraordinary security measures — but American satellites had not been able to photograph bin Laden or any members of his family. The Tuesday meeting included team leaders from the CIA’s counterterrorism center, the special-activities division (which runs covert operations for the agency) and officials from the office of South Asian analysis.

Panetta wanted to get those aides’ opinions on the potential bin Laden mission, and he quickly found a lack of unanimity among his team. Some of the aides had been involved in the Carter Administration’s effort to go after the hostages held by the Iranians 30 years ago; others had been involved in the ill-fated “Black Hawk Down” raid against Somali warlords in 1993. “What if you go down and you’re in a firefight and the Pakistanis show up and start firing?” Panetta says some worried. “How do you fight your way out?”

But Panetta concluded that the evidence was strong enough to risk the raid, despite the fact that his aides were only 60%-80% confident that bin Laden was there, and decided to make his case to the President. At the key Thursday meeting in which President Obama heard the arguments from his top aides on whether or not to go into Pakistan to kill or capture bin Laden, Panetta admitted that the evidence of bin Laden’s presence at the compound was circumstantial. But “when you put it all together,” Panetta says he told the room, “we have the best evidence since [the 2001 battle of] Tora Bora [where bin Laden was last seen], and that then makes it clear that we have an obligation to act.”

Black Ops doesnt seem to be too bad with hacking surprisingly. I havent seen anyone finding any wall glitches or anything really stupid and annoying for the most part.

But I wish it was like the original days with COD 4. that game was like crack.

I think the guy was talking about the PS3 hackers specifically. PlayStation Online is down because they ran into some serious hacking problem.

I love Black Ops...I'm on PS3 and the network has been down for a couple of weeks because some losers hacked it.

Edit: What he said ^

Uh oh. Story changing already.

Quote:
WASHINGTON — The White House on Tuesday substantially revised its version of Osama bin Laden's death, revealing the al-Qaida leader was not armed when he was shot in the head by U.S. Commandoes.

A spokesman for President Barack Obama also backtracked on earlier White House claims that bin Laden used his wife as a human shield to protect himself.

Now, officials say a woman who was not bin Laden's wife rushed U.S. Assaulters and was injured, not killed.
