If he had all 150 of his wives in that compound, he might have survived!

He also called Clinton. Just protocol is my guess.

Plus he had to call Boehner, all members of the NSC among many others.

Also, and this hasnt really been addressed much...after they were convinced it was OBL (which was confirmed long after the raid) the CIA/NSA needed time to warn their embassies and other US interests about what was to be revealed, and for them to step up security before the reaction from the nutbars. Probably a pretty good idea.

Since she's the Secretary of State and he's a former President, I wonder if Obama has to make separate calls to each of them, or if he just tells whoever answers the phone to tell the other one?

I'm sure we'll be able to see how this went down in a major motion picture or the next Call of Duty: Blacker Ops when you step into the shoes of daring agent Jason Bourne/Jack Bauer/Jack Ryan as played by Justin Bieber.

I would really like to see the U.S. roll back some of the freedom destroying security measures that have been implemented since 9-11.

Now that Al-Qaeda leadership has been destroyed, and the war supposedly drawing down, the TSA sexual molestation crew and the Patriot Act should be discontinued......unless of course 9-11 was just the excuse to implement these measures on Americans permanently.

I would eventually like to see the roll back on some of the security measures, but not the day after you kill the ideological base of most of the hardcore terrorists in the the middle east.

I'd argue that Americans are more at risk now for another terrorist attack then a week ago.

Agreed, it's definitely more on my radar today than it was hopping on the subway last week. I don't really see a day where there isn't a concern coming for a very long time, that period of our lives ended long ago.

I have been highly suspicious about the attempted follow-up attacks including the underwear bomber (trying to light a non-bomb with matches), the Times Square non-bombing (in which the device was not even a bomb and included fireworks), and the shoe bomber.

It seems like they are extremely incompetent nowadays, unless these are phony sting operations designed to keep the terror fear alive....but the time to scale back security measures should come, I don't know when....maybe this will be a good topic of debate for the next presidential election.

But why wouldn't they just initiate one on their own like they did on 9/11?

Bin Laden thrown overboard off aircraft carrier.

I remember Islamic burial rites were quite strict. Is there anything about being buried at sea?

I agree, they should have hung his ass from the tallest tree on the White house lawn. He didn't honor 'Human Tradition' by taking down the WTC, so why did they give him his final honor? Its exactly what he wanted, he died as a martyr. They should have shown him NO honor. Now it shows young extremists that if they get caught and killed, they will still be buried in their tradition.
