From my understanding, what makes these vouchers legal is even when expire, they are still worth whatever you paid for them. For example, today's DealTicker City Studio deal costs $29 for a Detailing Package valued at $90. If you use the voucher within a year, you'll get the detailing package worth $90. If you use the voucher past the expiry date, the voucher is still worth the original $29 that you paid and can be put towards any service at Studio City. I believe this applies to all vouchers purchased at all the group-buyng sites.

I emailed DealTicker about this, and got a reply (CC'd to their legal dep't ) saying that because it has no cash value those regulations don't apply. Which seems like a BS answer to me, since the regulation says "monetary value" and it certainly has monetary value, since you're paying for it. They're vouchers (specifically included in the Act) not coupons.
It didn't sound like they'd honour it for the $29 after expiry. I'd be interested in hearing what CP's legal braintrust has to say on this one, since it seems like they're basically flouting the law to me, although I'm certainly not a lawyer. They're probably counting on nobody filing suit over $29, but it might be worth a complaint to gov't of Alberta/Service Alberta if one of yours expires.

My money is on DealTicker not lasting. I will be leery purchasing from them given that they are trying to lawyer their way out of legally mandated customer service levels. They have a lot of competition. Given this and the lack of sales on the wine deal, I suspect that they will not be in business in a year.

I would have to agree with you. I also found this on their FAQs. Classy!

I Bought A DealTicker.com Voucher and Now That Business Has Closed Down... Can I Get My Money Back?
If anything happens making it impossible for you to redeem your voucher, DealTicker will do its absolute best to ensure to provide a satisfactory resolution to any situation and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.

You can compare that to Groupon's policy from their comparable page.

Just to let you guys know. Walmart had the Kuerig B60 SE brewer on for $128 right now. That is a smoking deal for the machine. I have one at the office, and at that price, I picked up another one for home.
They normally go for $180-200.
This is the one, make sure it has thew LCD display on it, and the chromed handle. Other words I think it is the B40, which is not as well featured:

I live by Stonehill too and was pretty excited when I found out YaYaCalgary was featuring them today. I used to always go to Flight Deck to watch Flames games, but haven't gone since it switched over to Stonehill. I heard they interior is very different (no more TV's everywhere).
