Yeah, but our deficit was caused by an economic recession caused by your subprime mortgages.
So it's our fault gave money to Canadian's that couldn't afford it? But it's not any fault to the Canadian's that asked for the money when they knew they couldn't afford it? It's our fault that you have a deficit? LOL

1. There wasn't a revolution going on in Iraq
2. there weren't Iraqi jets flying around Iraq bombing cities
3. We all know Qaddafi is doing this, and it's not "fake" doing it, like WMD production, rolling labs, and we don't need a year and a half of convincing, a bunch of fake evidence and a corny speech in front of the UN that nobody believed anyway
4. The "international community" is on board, and not just two countries
5. There are not 200 thousand troops gearing up to live in Libya for the next 10 years
6. Americans on both sides of the aisle seem to be agreeing with this
7. They are enforcing a no-fly zone, not invading and "nation building"

What? No! It your fault you gave money to Americans that couldn't afford it, thus crashing the global economy, thus decreasing Canadian tax revenue and increasing Canadian services costs, and necessitating stimulus spending.
(Also, the correct response was "notsureifserious.gif".)
Our current deficit was actually caused by a government ideologically opposed to running a surplus.
The UN made the resolution international law. It's an international issue now.
The US or Canada dont have to commit troops. This is a 100% internal Libyan issue.

And the US deficit (redundant) military spending continues.
Yah, so. I fail to see your point. The US has military spending to protect its borders and its interests around the world. I will be the first to say the first thing they should cut is minimum 1/2 their non US military bases.
A 100% internal Libyan issue should not be a concern to the US or Canadian Military.

That, in the interests of democracy, should not be decided by who can drop bombs from the sky.
we shouldn't be doing squat; that's American's and Canadians alike.

You sorta made my point for me there. It's military is there to protect the US. Libya is not a threat to the US, Libya is a threat to Libya.
I understand that Khadafi's actions are reprehensible but this is a pie whose finger the US really doesn't need to be in.
America doesn't need to be involved in this, unless there's really worry that a Euro coalition can't get the job done, which I doubt.
Either that or there's a veiled ulterior motive to let the multinationals sweep in after the oil when it's all said and done.

the US is part of the UN, and this is a UN operation. i really don't see how you can argue your point
You don't have to join in if you're a member. Ask almost 180 countries who are also part of the UN.
That said, if you're on the Security Council and voted for the resolution to enforce the no-fly zone, you almost better damn well contribute in some form or another.
He can do a 30 day (I believe) campaign without congressional approval. Besides I believe that this is a UN deal since we are apart of UN we have to delegate some power towards the cause.
I don't think so.
"The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation."

I did see it. Well done for the most part but incomplete imo....
You thought it was partisan? I didn't think so....
I think that any documentary with arbitrary editing used to enhance the purpose of the documentary is partisan on the part of the documentary maker. In the case of Inside Job, I found it very interesting and that it brought up some good points, but I am not about to quote it as fact if that makes sense.
Amazing how shallow people can be slamming the United States. Of couse they are not perfect but :
Sometimes I don't think a lot us (Canadians) really appreciate how lucky we realy are have a military power like the U.S.A in our backyard...I'd hate to think what our life would probably be like without them.

I agree with you there, but don't forget, we provide quite the moat for the US as well from a Northern attack, which in my opinion, is the way it will go one day when China finally decides to go for it. Someone has to mind the business in our arctic wasteland and run the oil factory in the mean time.
When the day comes, we will be clamoring to all become the 51st state. I just hope it doesn't happen in my lifetime. I do however sleep a lot better at night, knowing our neighbours to the south are the biggest bad asses on the planet when it comes to military might. I don't doubt for a second, any invasion on Canada, would be treated by the US no differently than an invasion on their home soil. For both compassionate, and strategic reasons.
