The Super Volcano is something like 40,000 years over due for a good pressure blow off.
And the ground has risen something like 72 centimeters since the 1920's due to Magma and gas pressure.
See you all in hell.

Why is it that everytime anything ever happens anywhere it automatically means the end of the world is coming...
####ty earthquakes have been happening for the past 200 years but all the sudden its going to change everything and the volcano is going to blow up and kill us all...
People need to calm down.

Shaw has made long distance free to Japan, as well as unlocked Japanese TV on channel 514 for all their customers right now.

Shouldn't we maybe try poking a little hole in the ground to allow some of the pressure to release naturally?
Why don't we parachute Glenn Beck's fat ass in there?

I know there was a cluster of earthquakes in 2004. But, we have really recorded these things since about 1900. Tough to say if this is just a natural ebb and flow.

I don't know much about nuclear power plant operations, but can't they just pull the fuel rods and kill the reaction?

Nope...its burning way too hot right now (almost 5000F)and a drastic temperature change would cause catastrophic reactions...at least thats how I read the explanations I have seen before.

No. The rods remain radioactive and hot for years and years...I can't recall the number right now, but it amazed me at how long of a period of time it was.
The issue they are having is in working the coolers. The rods when they are "empty", they are basically put in "baths" until they are cool enough to be removed.

That boat that they feared was lost at sea after the tsunami has been found and everyone is alive and has been airlifted to safety. Good stuff.
Another thing I cant get over is how many fires are still burning completely out of control. Has to be really scary for those around them as there is litttle that can be done.
Also, now reporting 3 reactors are in trouble. The original one is giving off radiation 1000 times normal inside the plant. This could be really really really bad news. Meltdown is being bandied about.
