If I was walking around Vancouver with a Flames jersey on, I would expect the same thing to happen.
I would be embarrassed if anyone I knew flipped you the bird just because of the team you cheer for. Its way classier to engage in dialogue and deliver the insult.

Maybe he wasn't being a coward. Maybe he figured that the time taken to give you the finger was all that you deserved, tough guy.

Could've been worse, ask the Oilers fan from a couple years who decided to beak off downtown.
And, welcome to Calgary. I've been to Edmonton and Vancouver wearing Flames attire, and you hear everything from behind and are "accidently" bumped and pushed from behind and otherwise accosted on the street and in the arena. Whining because someone gives you the finger from a car is pretty weak to complain about.
