Great, so now when I call my parents in Winnipeg and my mom asks "would you like to speak to your dad?"- what the heck am I supposed to talk to him about besides how much worse their winter is?

Apparently, there is nothing like schadenfreude or a good dose of "I have more and better women/jobs/children/time/money/home/granite counter tops/sportscar/pension to wave around like it's 1999.

(I imagine there are steel ball sacks hanging off the back of a truck somewhere in there as well.)

Are you actually playing Pebble Beach today?? Or one of the other 17 mile drive courses?

If so, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. Even if you were a fat, unemployed, Nickelback listening, herpes infested, cat loving Canucks fan!

...Well, maybe the Canucks part is pushing it...

You're taking things a little too seriously.

It's amazing what cold will do. I watched an episode of Nova about Antarctic researchers where a bunch of fairly thing scientists were chowing down on 6,000 calories a day just to maintain their body weight. One girl got her monthly provision of chocolate bars and there were like 200 in there. She actually expressed dismay at the prospect of having to eat so many over the next few weeks.

Not trying to be "that guy" but 2.5 weeks ago it was +10°C in Calgary...

I personally love* this cold weather. Temperature always averages out so the colder it is now, the warmer it will be this summer!

*I lied

But, below . . . . . a grey, bitterly cold, unrelenting winter just kind of sucks right now, even if there are things to chew on when its more than 20 below zero . . . I can't wait to see how long it takes that pile of snow she's laying on to melt.

Off to Hawaii on Monday . . . . . sayanora suckers!!!
