Just pointing it out because I think PIMking has no clue what he's talking about. If everyone in Calgary drove Subarus and trucks, traffic on days like this would be as normal as any other day.
Don't be offended, car people. I'm not actually suggesting that you buy trucks for the few days a year that 4x4 helps. I actually appreciate your compactness the other 350 days per year when you're taking up less parking space, and I'm pretty jealous of your ability to zip around on nice days.

or you can get an all-wheel drive car and have the best of both worlds. that's what i intend to do for my next vehicle purchase

Im curious how many people NEED to go to work.
I get that work is important, but if your going to get there at 9-10am and then talk about the ####ty weather all day. Did you really need to go in? Cant most people remote access their work computers from home?

I live in Mckenzie and work at MRU and had to be in for a meeting at 10am.
Instead of leaving at 7:45 and spending at least 90 minutes in traffic and arriving a stressed out frustrated mess like last time, today I left at 9:10am and got into my parking lot at 9:35am.
It's nice, by that point must of the volume is either off the street, congested somewhere that I'm not, or crashed and the accident has already been cleaned up.

I hear that once you go Subaru, you never go back. If I had money lying around, I'd totally buy a Subaru for running around.

Depends on what you do for a living. If I had something going in a lab, it was normally vital that I got into work. In research, you don't get results at home. These days, however, I'm more idle so it's easier to get things done remotely.

This is my first winter in an AWD. Wow. What a difference. I didn't even want AWD, but the options we wanted in the car we bought were not available in non-AWD. After burning around this winter in all the snow and ice, it's safe to say I'm sold on it. It absolutely blows through any icy, snowy intersection or hill I've thrown at it so far, and that's just with crappy, stock Kumho all seasons.

Some of the seals sweat oil a bit. Not out-and-out "leakage," but enough to be noteworthy.

Well that was an exciting bike ride in this morning. Should have dusted off the GT racer, would have made better time and had more fun.

Is the repair work for this reasonable or imported unreasonable?

I had no idea this was coming. Woke up to the sound of my neighbour shoveling his walk and was like "wtf it must have snowed a bit"...then I looked outside.
This is awesome! Bring it Mother Nature, you b****.

Haha, my walk to work this morning was insane! Yeah, need to investigate the possibility of purcahsing boots.
You would think that walking to work would make the commute easier, but nope, not today, a 4 minute walk took almost 20 this morning. Pretty much everything that could go wrong did. No one shovelled their walks yet, looks like there was a water main break and a huge detour through a neighbourhood, etc, etc. Fun times.
Other than that, not too shabby.

I'd love to work from home, but work won't give me a license and install copy of the program I use all day. I'm not dropping a couple thousand dollars to spend the occasional day at home doing work.
