There is so much wrong with the mode that it would take a 40 foot scroll to list them out.

Love the game ... it's why I'm so hard on it. I've just always hated how EA organizes the menus.

For the Sim slip-up: Aren't you allowed to jump in at any time? I haven't used the Sim button in years, but I always thought you could intervene in your simulation whenever you felt like it.

My personal annoyance is when your own players skate into you.
Newslash: even if you drop your stick, you're need to get to the bench is still not more important than the guy moving up ice with the puck!

ive yet to successfully achieve a one-timer with my d-man. broken stick every time.
also, it's getting ridiculous that the select lines icon in the bottom ALWAYS gets stuck and doesn't go away.

What's annoying is the net-code for the online has been broken for 5 years and EA still hasn't fixed it.

The biggest problem with offline modes is the lack of disparity between players.
EA sort of kind of gave lip service to it by bringing down the overalls of players, but there is still no real discrepancy between the 200 guys in the league who are between 82 and 87.
Watching Hedman and Setoguchi sit for an entire year as unsigned RFAs because they are demanding 6.6 million a year and no one can afford to re-sign or offersheet them is ri-damn-diculous, and it would take 1 season of simming for the testers to see.
I find it hard to give critiques of things I view as freakin' obvious.
It's obvious to me that aside from the physics, the only thing that EA spent time on developing was HUD and EASHL boosts.
Frankly, if 2k was to put a serious effort into developing an NHL game that had a competent GM mode, I'd give it serious consideration.

Thats why I usually end up playing with the Salary Cap off, it takes away the realism but at least the rookies who need resigning can play.
The presentation needs a lot of work too, hopefully they can revamp 2012 and improve a ton of features as well as a new skating engine.

Don't pass it so hard to your d-man. If you pass it as hard as you can, it's much more likely to end up in a broken stick, whereas a nice normal pass is a lot easier to accomplish.

The problem is that they can't accept a hard pass for a one-timer at all. I can't give a soft pass a lot of the time. I need a quick pass and shot, and it never works.
The forwards can handle the passes no problem.. why not the d men?

I don't know why this is a problem for you, because it isn't for me.

My point is why can forwards accept hard passes and one-time them while d-men at the point cant?
It's not an issue if i want to sauce a pansy pass over.

I get what you're saying, I just don't encounter this issue.
I wing passes to my dmen all the time.

I'm not entirely sure either. I've never had that problem. Online or offline? Is there a slider that can be changed for broken sticks?

Sure sign that this series is losong steam. Checked my PS3, NHL11 hadn't been in my system since early October, so I traded it in, mid-NHL season, got $15 for it. You used to get $25 minumum through the summer with these games.

So I was playing some OTP last night. First I got a terrible human goalie who let in 2 quick goals, he bails, I'm thinking "good finally some decent goaltending with the CPU". He let's in 9 goals on 14 shots. I end up a -7. Screw this game. When the game decides to arsch fack me like that I simply don't want to play. How is this good customer retention EA. You buttholes.

I think a big reason for this is that you now need to purchase an online code to play a second hand copy of NHL11 online (and other newer EA games I believe.)
I love NHL11 and play it a lot. I've been a loyal EA hockey supporter since '93-'94 but I don't like the direction they're taking at all.
The menu system is a joke and it has been for years now.
Paying for game features once you already own the game is just wrong. I realize this is a trend that stretches well beyond EA.
On a positive note, I've been purposely matching up against friends in HUT. Surprisingly easy. It has breathed new life into this mode for me!

Maybe you should play some defense

until they get puck and skating physics into this game, it's just going to remain bad.
it's annoying watching CPU as well as human players (myself included) be able to carry the puck and then stop on a dime with the puck, and not have any effect on the puck possession. It's annoying that regardless of the overall, any and every player can skate, deke, and play like huselius did for the flames . It's also annoying that it's damn near impossible to complete a pass to/among the dmen on the point.
also, why and how does a puck that's been stopped by a goalie, float up above him once out of every 5-10 shots? This actually happens once every 10 games, in real life.
also agree, they need to have disparity in player ratings and how that effects the player on the ice. I really think the only purpose for EA ratings in this game is for simulation purposes only. In game, htey mean little to nothing.

Agree, my friend and I figured out, as with most, that in EASHL, speed means nothing. We have our speed at 65 and we are just as fast as people who have it at 85. same with acceleration. Agility is the only one along with balance, endurance and strength that seem to really do anything
