Sorry, I should of made myself more clear. I don't mean all-time better, that would be crazy. But, at this moment is Rodgers better than Favre was at any point in his career.
The crazy thing is neither Favre, nor Rodgers had/have great offensive weapons/wide receivers. Solid options for sure, but not a Rice/Moss/Owens/Harrison/Davis etc. I guess Donald Driver is still around; I swear that guy has to be like 50 years old.
I don't know how many Packer games you watch, but Greg Jennings is an unreal receiver,. Among top 5-10 in my books. To say Rodgers hasn't/doesn't have a great-elite wr is just wrong.
If the Packers win it all this year, I'd think he'd be a guy you start considering as the best current QB in the NFL. He won't have the track record that Brady or Manning do, but over his past two seasons his body of work is as good or better than anyone.
What's amazing is that he didn't make the Pro Bowl this year...I guess they knew he'd be busy preparing for the Superbowl.

I still would put both of the aforementioned ahead of him and Drew Brees still has to be in the mix as well. If Roethlisberger can get a 3rd ring this year, he will move up on lists as well.
But if GB wins it all, on my personal list he would be tied for 3rd.
Well, while Green Bay has been playing for their lives for over a month now, the Falcons have been a playoff bound team for a month, then had the bye week. I don't think it helped them at all; they just looked pretty lackadaisical, while the Packers were energized.
Then that's just plain bad coaching and preparation. A week off doesn't make you that much worse.

More so then QB, the best WR list in the NFL would be interesting to me. Some of the usual suspects fizzled this past year and now there are some new guys on the scene.

Plus he puts the team on his back!

Dropit may be right about Jennings. Top 5 in yards receiving, and 8 more touchdowns that last year. Roddy White and Brandon Llyod had better years statistically, but they are no longer with us. Even though White did put up decent numbers tonight (57 yards, and a TD), the Falcons were never in it after the first half.

Still shaking my head at Rodgers performance last night. Simply remarkable and likely the best in Packers post-season history or awfully close at any rate. That's saying something with this team.
The guy is just so calm and collected and he just knows what he wants to do, where to look for it to happen and if it isnt there what to do instead. Last year I was going ballistic at times because he held the ball way way too long so many times. He has certainly fixed all that. You just watch the whole offense when he is in the huddle and they are listening intently...this is his team and there is no question of that. He also has a way of keeping his guys loose but focussed.
From a blog
Quote:
"Rodgers calmly led the team on five consecutive touchdown drives. The drives covered 81, 92, 80, 80 and 50 yards.
"The funniest thing he said in the huddle was 'Nobody panic,' " Colledge said.
Admittedly Favre nor Starr ever had a receiving corp anywhere close to this talented or deep, but even with that being said, Rodgers looks like he will be among them when all is said and done. Of course he hasnt won a thing yet, but with the teams age, his abilities, a defensive genius running things who has a plethora of talent to work with, and a GM/Coach combo who are obviously on the same page and have what appears to be a winning formula, this wont be his last dance at the prom.
I enjoyed the heck out of that beat down, Rodgers and pretty much the entire team played a perfect game. I always get a kick at how fast everyone wants to annoint and rank a qb after a great game, but that certainly was Rodgers throwing himself in the mix as the best in football, now let's see if he can get the ring. Not sure what this game does to Matt Ryan, but wow, meltdown city.
Fox showing a great video in their pre-game of a Patriots player doing the exact same on the sideline, trying to trip a Jets special teams coverage guy, that Jets coach was vilified for doing to that Dolphins player earlier this year.
I think much of this game comes down to Chicago's Oline vs Seattles's D line. Chicago seems more talented everywhere else on the field, but if you can't block, you won't win.
Lol, so Peyton Manning is not in your top 10 QB's of all time?
No, Peyton is definitely IN my top ten, he's probably 3 or 4th. I just meant that people talk about him as though he's the greatest ever, which I don't feel he is. One of the greatest, Of course, to suggest anything else would be stupid
