You've obviously never been to the Marlborough or MacLoad Wal-Marts. They're about 10x worse than Westbrook, which is 10x worse than Deerfoot Meadows (the beacon of Walmart cleanliness)

I think its a matter of being dumb vs smart. Who in the world wouldnt pick up socks, underwear, undershirts, plain vnecks and other stuff from these places when it is 1/10th of the cost.
|
You can get those things for under a dollar at Wal-Mart? If that's the case, I can't imagine it lasting more than a couple of times in the washing machine.
But if you'd read the initial post from worth about buying clothes at Wal-Mart, you'd notice he said except for underwear.

I bought a pack of 10 pairs of socks at Walmart recently (in house brand), and they have yet to stop shedding lint. Ive washed them at least 3 times, and yet still whenever I take them off, my feet and toes are covered in lint. I've decided its not the usual sock shed, but rather the socks decomposing infront of my very eyes.
I'll be getting a name brand next time (even Hanes, FoTL is miles above).

Maybe lawyers? I always wonder that (and secretly laugh at them) when I'm grabbing lunch.

Generally speaking, if its a young guy in a suit (who looks like a dbag), he's either an Ibanker or a lawyer.

Or he's either headed to his job interview or his trial!

The only people who wear suits are lawyers and I-bankers, the difference is we don't use pocket squares.
Edit: oh, and Peter12

If he's 19 he's not a lawyer. Unless you go the Doogie Howser route you'd be at least 24 by the time you finish law school.
Btw, there are I-bankers in Calgary? Like a noticeable number of them?

Tonnes, we are the second largest financial market after Toronto. A lot of capital raising in the Oil & Gas industry as well as M&A.

Investment Bankers in a Wendy's?
Surely you jest.

Huh, I mean that makes perfect sense but for some reason it surprised me. I haven't really been involved with the Calgary corporate sector since around 2002 though, and even then only on the oil and gas side, so I guess I'm pretty out of touch.
Do they act like tools because they think that's how I-bankers are supposed to act? Because the few I know here in NYC are actually pretty cool.

No, all the I-bankers I know are pretty cool, although I'm pretty junior (so, so are they). I think it's just fun for people to rag on lawyers and bankers.
I can say they do not purchase their suits from Wal-mart, although I've seen some in-house counsel wearing George ties.

I'd love to purchase my next suit from Wal-mart. Then I can tell how it goes with my new hair cut and get some McDonalds on my way out.
