Really don't want to see a Pats/Bears Super Bowl, but I think that's how it's shaping up.

I can't be too upset about this loss. I don't think anyone (myself included) had the Eagles winning the NFC East, especially with a tough schedule. The team is really young, and some of that showed today, but this offense is going to be really good for a long time (assuming they line gets fixed). I can't even imagine how good Vick could be with a good offensive line.

Well, although SEA beat Chicago in Chicago earlier this year fairly convicingly (a late Hester return made it closer then it actually was), Chicago has looked like a completly different team on offense since.

That said, all us SEA fans can hope for is limited offensive mistakes, and that Jay Cutler lets the pressure of his first playoff game get to him, and be the Cutler that throws multiple, dumb interceptions.

I give them a bit less of a chance then I did of beating the Saints, but its a better bet still then if they had to face ATL.

Hasslebeck also has some demons to exercise against CHI in the playoffs. In the 2007 divisional game, Seattle was in Chicago territory, tie game, with under 40 seconds to go. 3rd and 9, and he hesitates far too long in the pocket, and instead of dumping it off to Alexander for a minimal gain, he took a friggin 9 yard sack. If he dumped it off, and Alexander could've gotten an extra few yards, it would've been a 47-50 yard FG attempt to win the game. Even if there was a miss, there was no time for Chicago to run any play. But his dumb decision to look like a hero took them out of FG range. Chicago wins in OT and then beats NO to go to the SB that year.

I clearly recall that, being infuriated for hours/days (and still am!) that he made such a dumb decision, and really its been all downhill since then for the team, and for him; he hasn't done anything since except dumb decision after dumb decision for the past 4 years, until a good game yesterday, of note.

And I dont count out GB, they played ATL until the last seconds, in ATL, earlier this year...as I said in a post a few pages back...could we see a GB/SEA NFC Championship game...in Seattle? I'd do whatever it took to get out there if that long shot fantasy happened next weekend.

Good day for me. When Jones dropped that TD at the end of the 1st half, I said quite audibly and in different words for all to hear...thats goona come back and bite them.

I was almost right...thank Vince Lombardi I was wrong.

Well if Atlanta could have the choice of who they get to play next week, no doubt they'd be sending the Packers to Chicago. Hence why reseeding the first round of the playoffs should happen.

I do think that Chicago is a match up that Seattle has a better chance with. Chicago has an offence that can run hot and cold, and when they're off, they become a real liability for that team. Still it's tough to go into another teams Stadium and beat them twice in the same year so I have to pick the Bears, but I'll be cheering for the Seahawks. Bears 20-6

Green Bay at Atlanta should also be a pretty good game, especially if the Packers can keep todays run game going. Whoever wins this game is going to the Superbowl, and I think the Packers will pull it off. Lets say 21-17, the Packers defence makes more plays than the Falcons does.

Ravens at Steelers should be a meanancing affair with two teams who really hate each other. Seems to me that the Steelers have been getting the better of this game for the past few years so maybe it's the Ravens turn? Although Pittsburgh having this extra week to rest up will really be able to come after Flacco, and Roethlisberger isn't Matt Cassel. I'll pick the Steeler to win this one 24-20.

Jets at Patriots, is another rivalry with a fair bit of ironny. First the Jets took Curtis Martin from the Patriots, than Bill Bellichick refused the Jets coaching job to take the one with the Patriots....Martin was a great player, but the Patriots won that one. Even Pete Carroll has coached both of these teams. But for Sunday, it's about Tom Brady and the Patriots offence which in it's last 8 games was absurdly dominant. The Jets will need to put up 30 points themselves if they want to win this one. I don't think they will, Patriots win 31-21.

No way the Steelers win big. That game will be decided by less than a TD. I'd bet my house on it.

Wow, the spread for Chicago and New England are both way too big.

I doubt the Jets defense lets Brady walk all over them again, and Chicago's offense runs way too hot/cold to give them 10 points to anybody.

Weather could be a factor in CHI, NE and PIT next weekend.

I hope your right troutman!
After last weekend I hope there are no more upsets.
I would just be happy if the Pats pulled the same score on the Jets as the last game they played!

Can Eagles - Packers just start already?

MOD EDIT: Don't name-call. Sure the Chiefs are not an elite team, however your small minded analysis is way off.

Poor defense? Yesterdays effort by the defense was nothing more than outstanding. The reason the Chiefs surrendered 30 points was from the complete lack of offense which resulted in a very lopsided time of possession. A defense gets wore down when that happens. Watch a few games instead of just checking out the scores beside the players on your fantasy team and maybe you'll figure something like that out.

Overrated running game? Explain how the top rushing team in the NFL statistically is overrated? You read through this thread and see how many posters have commented on what a phenomenal back Jamaal Charles is. However I guess having one of the best YPC in history is not enough to satisfy an astute football fan such as yourself.

As for Matt Cassel, your right, he isn't setting the world on fire. However, I don't think he is any worse than the QB for the team that you pretend to like when things are going good for them.

So if your going to comment on things you know very little about? You can make them somewhere else. Either think before you post or don't post in the NFL threads at all if you can't lend anything to the discussion.

If the weather is really bad, cold and snowy in those three cities who do you think it favours?

In the Patriots vs Jets game I think that would have to favour the Jets since they are the better running team and bad weather could hurt the Patriots dominant pass game.

In the Patriots vs Jets game I think that would have to favour the Jets since they are the better running team and bad weather could hurt the Patriots dominant pass game.

That would be true but the Patriots the last few years, have been a freaking machine when playing in bad weather. Buffalo on the road , Tennasee at home, and the Bears on the road all in awful conditions and the Patriots just walked over them.

The Pats pass game isnt like most though....especially the last 10 weeks. They are more like long handoffs when Brady is dealing the rock.

Pats dont lose a step in bad weather.

Brady is god! He could throw accurately going against the wind walking uphill in both directions.
