Oh man...the offences inability to do anything throwing the ball is killing them. Cassel had a very good year, but as many say, he's not a guy who can take the game on his shoulders and win it by throwing the ball. He'll need superior weapons and a dominating defence to ever win a playoff game.

23-7 Ravens.
Still a quarter to play, but Baltimore @ Pittsburgh, NY Jets @ New England is what it looks like it will be next week.

Holy crap. Things just are getting worse and worse for KC. Baltimore gets the ball right back.
EDIT: Incomplete pass is what it should be.

Need another quality wide receiver to complement Bowe and maybe have to look at drafting a young QB that they can bring up slowly as IMO they can stay competitive with Cassel for the immediate future but if they really aspire to win a Superbowl they probably need a QB that can win games on his own shoulders. Cassel get's happy feet and is way to indecisive in the pocket you can see since the Ravens have stopped the run that the Chiefs offense has completely stalled.

Wow just got home from defeating the snow monster at the girl's house hoping to see a good finish, didn't think the score would be quite the way it is. Too bad, I've been all over the Chiefs wagon all year, moreso now that my boys are out. Not over yet though.
At least the Eagles are still in, I think I caught 11-12 Iggles games this year. Just lovin watching Vick huck it & chuck it this year, could never enjoy him before for obvious divisional reasons.

Can't say I'm surprised the Chiefs are pretenders and took some wins out of a poor division. No pass game, overrated run game, and a poor defense.
Matt Cassel is average at best.
Can Eagles - Packers just start already?

Disagree, especially on the run game part, they're just simply playing a superior opponent today. Ravens D makes every run game look subpar. Unbelieveable that a 12-4 team is starting the playoffs on the road. They really gotta fix the seeding format.

The run game was best in the league and the reason they made the playoffs and won the AFC west. The defense improved a lot as well and has kept them in most games. They are weak at the QB and WR position but Pioli has drafted really well and will likely address those positions in the draft/offseason. They shouldn't have to apologize for taking advantage of the easy schedule they were presented.

Can't really call a team that went from 4-12 to 10-6 pretenders. Ravens are just better.

Congrats to the Chiefs on a good season. To go from 4-12 to 10-6 is a huge accomplishment.
Congrats to the Ravens on the win. I think they are the team remaining that can beat New England in the AFC.

Nice run by Rice, what a monster. Gonna be a good ol' rivalry weekend in the AFC next week, Steelers/Ravens and Pats/Jets, get yo' popcorn ready! Just loving the playoff matchups so far this year.

85% of people who predicted NFL standings at the start of the year had the Cheifs finishing last and maybe winning 5 games this year. So they are ahead of schedule in rebuilding the team. It's a bit like the Miami Dolphins from a couple years ago who went from 1-15 to making the playoffs the next year. They had an easy schedule, caught some breaks and than got beat up in the playoffs. Atlanta is similar after the Vick fiasco, although they did get a franchise QB which gives them an edge.
Unfortunately this game went the way I thought it would. Although I was surprised how well the Chiefs hung in there in the first half. The Chiefs have good football people in place and let them do their jobs. I have faith that they'll continue to improve the team moving forward.
Really this will make for a better game next week. Pittsburgh would have destroyed the Chiefs, Pittsburgh and Baltimore should be some kind of epic battle.

Meh the proof is in the pudding when it comes to the Chiefs, they go up against a strong AFC defense and their overrated run games crumbles. They don't have to apologize for taking advantage of their weak schedule, I'm just saying I'm not surprised that they fall apart against a top team.

Well I'm just giving the Chiefs credit for a great season. I don't understand why you can't give credit to your hated rivals when it's deserved? I like the Oilers direction compared to the Flames as well. Today is a disappointment but when you consider how bad they have been in the past few seasons you still have to call this year a major success. They are on track to be a pretty good team.
