I still laugh about that, people got so upset about an impossible situation. LoL

Nobody thought about it long enough to figure out it is impossible for all the cars at a 4 way stop, to yield to the right...

That was a good thread, I couldn't believe how much road rage is in Calgary now, crazy! I guess there was 4-500,000 less people on basically the same roads when I moved away.

Better you guys than me, thats all i can say.

David Phillips, senior climatologist with Environment Canada, said Calgary hit -30C, which felt like -41C with the windchill.

“Alberta was colder than the North Pole,” said Phillips on Tuesday.

“We’re not seeing those temperatures in Russia, in Siberia.

“Alberta is definitely one of the coldest places on Earth today.”

Though Calgary’s temperature was well-below the average of 0C for this time of year, Phillips said Calgarians actually had it better than some Albertans Tuesday morning.

Ten sites around the province broke weather records for coldest Nov. 23 ever including Rocky Mountain House at -37.8, Banff at -35.6C, Coronation at -36.5, Drumheller at -34.7, Red Deer at -35.3 and Edmonton at -34.9C.

This time of year you give the right away to the car that is sliding through the intersection.

What do you do when you get to the bottom of the hill going at a decent clip then? Honest question.

It has more to do with the part of the road that driver was on, 2nd car locked was more sucessful (stopping in a shorter distance, although spinning) then the 3rd truck unlocked (drove through the intersection and almost couldn't stop before plowing into a building). Both didn't have much control in this situation. Threshold braking is the best way to avoid catastrophe. On this hill either method would be effective, or ineffective.

EDIT: Note the Subaru at 2:05, Not locked and out of control... In this situation, either locked or unlocked there is no control. It seems less so with more speed...

Are we watching the same video ? The 2nd car was completely out of control and did a 360...That's called luck, don't count on that LoL

Both trucks locked up and were also lucky, the first truck clearly sped up then the wheels locked, the car that got rear ended was stopped with flashers on... Sucks

Winter Weather, yes! But, as a red blooded Canadian man I was still outside with a beer BBQing a steak for dinner.

It was....brisk.

Luxury.

I was sitting on an ice-flow, eating raw seal blubber.

God damn car starter broke today, or at least I think it did. I don't really know anything about cars but this morning when I went outside to start my car it struggled to turnover than I heard a loud 'click' now the thing won't turn over at all. When I turn the key it just relays, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

Takes a lot more power to turn the engine, if you can pull your battery and get in somewhere warm, do so. Block heater not working ?

Somebody stole my extension cords so I couldn't plug it in last night.

Nice. When I get home I'll give it a boost, I'm pretty thrilled as I thought I was going to have to pay for a new starter.

Thanks guys.

My body has gone into hibernation mode. Last night was the first time I went to sleep before Midnight in months (my regular work shift is 3pm-12am).
