Chivalry isn't dead pete, just forgotten.
Good on you. Give it time, stick to your guns, don't let a string of one night stands ruin 25 years of dedication and hard work.
When my Mom passed away when I was very young I got some great advice from a close friend of the family.. I think it applies to many situations in life..
You can't change what has hapened to you, but you can change how you respond to it.
The damage is done and she can't hurt you anymore, so don't let her.

It all depends upon the seriousness of the relationship. Cheating on your high school girlfriend of two months is a whole lot less serious then cheating on your wife who is also the mother of your children.
People who cheat on the parent of their kids pretty much seal the death sentence on their character right there since they've deprived their kid(s) the right to a normal upbringing. They're just a notch below murderers and pedophiles.

This for sure.
The fact that your sending him flowers and reminding him that he is tasting you will throw him off centre for sure. It would weird the hell out of me.
Buy him some underwear 3 months later to keep him on his toes

It's usually when you lose faith in all humanity cause a girl screwed you over that you end up meeting the most amazing girl ever. You're just getting into the second phase, worry not.

This thread has been amazingly therapeutic. Since this seems to be providing so much entertainment to all, I met with her one last time to exchange whatever we had left at each other's places and then said so long for good. Pretty brutal, as you can imagine that basically when I saw her all of the good times we had just came flooding back. So I just shook her hand and away I went.
As many have said, introspection is the route I will be taking. I ain't down for good, but goddamit, still stinks.

You've got more class then I would ever be able to muster.
I would have mailed her her stuff, and avoided the face to face.
There's no need for closure when she cheats, thats all the closure that you need.
I will make you a bet. In six month's you'll probably get a tearful phone call from her.
Advice number 2, remove her from your cellphone, your email lists, your face book if you have that crap, any easy access usually means the drunken midnight dial up which can then be not only construed as your lowest point, but moves you from victor with your head held high, to desparate loser clinging to something that you shouldn't be grabbing onto.
Remove any traces of her. Pictures, burn em, that ugly fuzzy sweater she gave you for christmas, burn it. anything that she bought for decoration, toss it.
Phaser all traces of her out of your life, she's not worth remembering.

Cheating is bull. If you want someone else, break up the relationship and go to someone else. Pretty simple.
Peter - you go through good times in your life, you go through hard times in your life. Even the most successful people will go through hardship in their life. Lots of people get through it, and don't feel alone or feel like this is only happening to you. I'm sure you find your fix, whatever it may be. I'm not a vengeful kind of guy, so the best advice I can give is move on and forget about revenge and all those games. Breaking up was the hardest thing I've had to do in my life (so far) but some of the greatest things that have happened fell out of that as well.

Say you get married when you are 22, and stay married til you die at 82. If you had one extra curricular activity during that time you're a notch below murderers and pedophiles? Come on, that's absurd.
But you're right, it does depend on the circumstance. Cheating on your wife while she has cancer (aka the scumbag John Edwards) is a lot worse than cheating on your wife because she's refused to have sex with you for the last year.
