I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I was about to comment on this, then I noticed you followed up with a link. As mentioned in the article, the train noise is CP safety testing their horns at their yard. I've heard the horns more times that I wish to count, they're loud and seem to go on forever.

Fortunately, CP seems to have completed their tests.

After reading this I realize it's a lose lose situation: live in the suburbs and get woken up by hammers and trucks, live downtown and get woken up by rattling shopping carts and planes. Kind of funny.

The main runway at the airport routes most planes straight south from there, leading them right over Inglewood. Like the trains, you eventually just block them out.

Human beings have the knack for adapting to whatever hardships are imposed upon them yet complaining about said hardships perpetually.

Ahhh I misunderstood - I think of Inglewood as part of the "core" but not necessarily "downtown."

I'm not sure I can block out that much myself though.

Shopping carts?

I love Inglewood. Living in the inner city is awesome because you have the best access to everywhere else. I'm always going against the flow of traffic, no matter where I'm going.

Also, to the person who called the Hose and Hound a dive.. you shut the hell up. Swans is a dive bar, Hose and Hound is awesome. The Italian Job is epic.

Also, I highly recommend Espy as a clothing store, though I did just get $400 of free stuff from them for going there in my underwear this morning.

I haven't encountered any safety problems in Inglewood. Apart from the noise, you might have to deal with weird smells there - there's a yeast factory on the other side of Blackfoot I usually drive by and it always smells like rotten eggs, as well as a chicken rendering plant in Ramsay that residents complain about for obvious reasons, and unfortunately Inglewood is next to face the brunt of it (as is everyone else in the city during a chinook).

Grocery-wise, hit up International Avenue. It's a short drive east of Deerfoot on 17th avenue.

Speaking of Starbucks, I remembered NIMBYs trying to stop a Tim Hortons from opening at the old Turbo gas station site. I wonder why Starbucks was successful.

All your inputs are making decisions for us.

Thanks all.

I think come Dec 1, I'll be a new resident at Inglewood.
