Calling it arrogant...no, I didn't like it. Very unprofessional the entire series. I hate Sportsnet in general, it was absolute bush-league broadcasting.
All the kudos to Texas though, they played really well.

I'm in complete shock, NEVER did I expect to see my team in the World Series. Hell I still think that a .500 record is worthy of celebration. I can't comprehend my guys in the playoffs let alone the World Series. It seems to incomprehensible I'm not even that excited right now, more confused.
Hopefully it'll sink in tomorrow.
We beat the Yankees? Seriously? WTF?

Well I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Yankees! Yankees fans sure think payroll matters an awful lot. You spend $200 million a season on salary and you can only win 1 World Series in 10 years? Thats completely unacceptable.
Is the $33 million the Yankees spent on A-Rod this year better money spent than the $55 million the Rangers spent for their entire roster? I think not.
The $200+ million the Yankees spent on salary got them 859 runs during the regular season. Thats 72 more runs than the Rangers scored. They batted .267/.350/.436 as a team. Yet it doesn't mean a damn thing when you hit .201/.300/.370 in the ALCS.
Outside of Robinson Cano, the Yankees lineup was a joke against the Rangers. A-Rod batted .190, Tiexiera batted .000, and Swisher completely disapeared.
Fortunately for Yankees fans, there is always next year. As a Yankee fan, "next year" isn't a pie in the sky dream either. Its reality, we always have a shot.
See you in April.

My question has always been, how can the Yankees have a payroll that high and a bullpen that bad. Robertson? Wood? Logan? Moseley? Really?

That was so unexpected! Teams have been leaving men on base left and right. Madsen had been striking everyone out. And then out of nowhere Uribe hits a homer to the opposite field.
Phillies just blew another chance after the Giants weirdly used Lincicum in relief.

Great series and win for the Giants.
Phillies must be pissed. Howard cannot take that pitch.. take that pitch what for? to load the bases? You're Ryan freaking Howard.. win the game on your own terms!

Great game. Great series. Torture for Giants fans; every game was gut-wrenching (back to the season finale with SD).
What a performance by the bull-pen.
I think the Giants can win it all - PHI is at least as good as TEX?
Either way, we will have a first-time champion (not counting Giant titles in NY).

Phillies were nowhere as good as Texas. Howard the cleanup man had NO RBIs! Texas dominated the Yankees in the ALCS. However, the Giants are resilient and can get 8-10+ hits a game making the most of the opportunities. They will be underdog for sure but with home advantage and Texas losing a player (maybe Vladdy) with no DH in 4 of the 7 games, the Giants definitely have a chance.
But they're going to have to win some 6-5 games like in Game 4 cause I don't think they can win too many 2-1, 3-2 against the Rangers.
Should be great! Be prepared for more torture!

Good to see the Giants in there. Can't stand the Phillies and their fans, shame that Halladay had to go there.
Also 17 years ago tonight the Blue Jays beat the Phillies and the overhyped likes of Dykstra and of course ultra overrated Mitch Williams (who did analysis for Fox this series)
IIRC it was a Saturday evening as well.

They tie up too much money in aging veterans. Posada is 39, A-Rod is 35, Jeter is 36, Tiexiera is 30. There is a tonne of money right there. Rivera makes more money at the age of 40 than the entire Rangers pitching staff (according to TBS on Friday night). CC is the highest paid pitcher. AJ Burnett, who is a complete flop in the Bronx, is the 4th highest paid pitcher and 20th highest paid player in the Majors.
When you have an unlimited bank account, you tend to spend carlessly. Thats one thing I would like to see the Yankees improve. Spending their money more wisely and getting a better return on their investment. It will be interesting to see how they treat Derek Jeter this off season.

Heard on MLB radio today, Ron Washington plans on using Vlad in the outfield in one of the two games in San Francisco.
