Up the road 30 minutes, a Spaniard who'd been at the club for 3 years, launched a war to take back Liverpool, got the fans involved, told them what was happening, and what the end result could be and was ultimately sacked 2 years later, going down fighting and STILL launched attacks on them.

Tells you about the character of the two of them, especially since the latter is labeled arrogant by all your 2nd rate English managers. Which is funny seeing as baconface had launched that whole sad face, sad the game's about this and that, when he's been tamporing with Berbatov for a while, and that he was all over the papers with Stretford(Rooney's agent) and when he's bought him he said something to the effect of "it would have been a shame if a talent like this born 30 miles up the road wasn't a United player."
Ah yes, Liverpool was sure taken back due to the efforts of a Spaniard

Robbie didn't get to play with Torres. Rafa played a strict 4-2-3-1 formation. Robbie is my all time favourite player and I never miss a match when he's playing. I'll often fast forward through Spurs matches to the point where he comes on as a sub and then watch from there on.

Keane was a great player before he went to Liverpool, both with and without Berbatov. You're forgetting that he has scored 121 career goals in the Premiership, and only 26 of them were scored during the two seasons that Berbatov spent at Spurs.

The reason Robbie doesn't play is because he doesn't score goals anymore. He's been given lots of chances and the only person he's consistently outshined is Pav, and even that's a stretch.

He scored four goals in a Premiership match against Burnely on September 26 2009 and was promptly dropped in favour of Defoe. Hard to argue that "he doesn't score goals anymore" when he doesn't play any more. He went up to Celtic and was damn near top scorer in the SPL even though he only played there for half the season. He still scores regularly on international duty, he has 45 goals in 103 appearances, which is very good if you ask me.

'arry has an ego and that is why Robbie doesn't play anymore. He didn't like the fact that the players wanted to let their hair down and party a bit at Christmas last year and he's 'aving his revenge now.

Robbie doesn't play anymore because he isn't good enough, its really that simple

his scoring rate is lower than every main striker who has played for Spurs in the last 3 seasons outside of Crouch, who isn't played because of his goal scoring ability.

There have also been stories the past year or so about his attitude in the dressing room, and his attitude on the field when he throws a tantrum every time someone does something he thinks was wrong doesn't help as well

He is the 4th choice striker on the team, and with regards to current form/talent that is where he should be. If people still thought he was good enough he would have been picked up in August by a team needing a striker for the 8m or so Levy wanted for him

Robbie Keane is not an out and out finisher a la Defoe or Bent. He plays primarily in the role that VDV is currently playing, and three seasons ago he played in the hole behind TWO strikers for an entire season. His link up play is amazing and up there with some of the best play makers in the world. There's a reason that Liverpool came in for him for twenty million.

It's obvious your a massive Robbie Keane fan, and there is nothing wrong with that

we just disagree on his current talent, I think he used to be great but at this point is not good enough to be anything more than the 3rd or 4th best striker for a Champions League team with top 4 aspirations. When I say not good enough I mean for his current side

There are anywhere from 10-14 Premier League teams where he would be first choice

I think he leaves in January to go to what he will inevitably say was another of his "boyhood" clubs, which would bring that number to 4

Please provide links to these stories, I know you won't be able to because the last part of what you wrote is total BS. Attitude in the dressing room? Provide one link. Throws a tantrum? Provide one link. 8m that Levy wanted for him? Provide one link. He was heavily linked with a move to Turkey but 'arry came out in the press and said that he needed a fourth striker for the Champions League campaign and wouldn't let him go. He's not worth eight million, he's a 30 year old striker who has no confidence. To top it off, he's on massive money thanks to the Liverpool board of directors and no team would be willing to pay him 80k a week. 'arry should give him an extended run for a few games in a row, because what he needs is confidence.

Frank Lampard is the only active player ahead of him on the Premiership scoring chart. 130 for Lamps, 121 for Keane.

Four? Let's see.......Leeds, Liverpool, Celtic, yup, that would bring that number to four. I love the guy, there's no reason he should be warming the bench for a team that doesn't want or need him. 'arry should have agreed to pay half his wages and let him move to a club like Fulham or Bolton.

wow, and the Premiership scoring chart doesn't have any bearing on a players CURRENT abilities

I don't keep a log of stories I have read through out the past year, although the tantrums can be seen in every game he plays. If someone misses a pass to him, or he doesn't get a pass he likes he huffs and puffs all over the field.

There were stories last week about him and Redknapp getting in to it in the dressing room, should be able to find those easily with a google search

He's not going to get a run of games unless Pav and Crouch get injured

I don't think that Fergie would have done something of this nature because he was scared of the Glazer's response. He is the master manipulator and the King of Gamesmanship. This is all a game to him. Why put your neck out publicly like that to send a message if you can get someone else to do it. This way he won the day in the court of public opinion.

But I digress. No one really knows what happened behind the scenes. It may have been a stitch up or the fact that those two really are idiots.

Who do you think began the effort? Rafa was the one who said hang on here, something's not right, while everyone thought they were brilliant and he's the one who encouraged protests and what not at matches.

He was the one that had it written into his contract that he had full control of player transactions(this is in 2009) so that Purslow and co couldn't sell of Torres and the likes for big money.

So yes, he was a major part of it. But continue being ignorant please.

Have you seen Ferguson's start at United? Didn't win a trophy for 5 years, had 11th twice, 13th, and 6th were some of his results before he won the league 7 years later.

You're an idiot. You couldn't be more wrong about Rafa. Total joke? Yeah, didn't realize total jokes won 2 la ligas when the galacticos had Zidane, Figo, Ronaldo and the likes or Barcelona had the then best player in the world Rivaldo and company, or won a Uefa Cup, Champions League title, FA Cup, and then another CL final.

A vast majority didn't want him out. You're a ing bellend, the vast majority loved Rafa and wanted to keep him, there were a few rallies attracting loads of people to save his job, the KOP still flew his flag(s) with massive pride and still do(you know the one next to Shankley, Paisley, Fagan and Dalglish) or is that one reserved for jokes as well? His name was still sung loudly and proudly in the Kop until the death.

Now, you say his rotaton policy cost us the PL? That's a joke. One United CB(Ferdinand) cost more than our whole backline and keeper combined. Our wage bill was 5th highest in the league, United's being 2nd. United had 4 30MP players(Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, Ferdinand) Liverpool's most expensive player cost 20MP(Torres).

Doesn't help when our starting 11 cost less than half of what United's 11, and our bench was putrid compared to theirs.

So if you had any brains whatsoever, you would see that for years Rafa was punching well above his weight(being spending) and that ownership was holding him back.

But yes, Rafa's rotation cost us the league....kind of funny seeing as Ancelotti and Ferguson both believe in the same thing.

But I know you didn't send any emails to help get rid of Hicks and Gillett, because you fail to understand the simple things and what needs to be done.

And then you're arguing for Robbie Keane....lol. Yeah, Harry's ego is keeping him from playing. This is the same Redknapp who begged to have him back 6 months after he sold him, who now refuses to play him. Ok bud.

Also, Mods please check this guy's IP, I believe he's the idiot that got me banned for a week for saying he was me....he has multiple accounts.

Rafa's rotation policy lost us the league, that's a laugh. Ask in Aston Villa what happens if you have a squad that didn't cost as much as ManU's, Chelsea's, or Man City's. They held on great for half the year, then proceeded to free-fall once everyone was tired. We know the great teams of Shankly oftentimes used very little players, but the game was different. Shankly himself implemented dieting and conditiong regiments. It put Liverpool FC ahead of the game. Nowadays, every team is subject to such things. You don't do that to get an edge anymore. You do it to stay competitive altogether. You can't win a league using mostly only 13 different guys.

If anything, Rafa's rotation policy is the only reason we had a shot. Without Rafa's rotation policy, Yossi Benayoun wouldn't have become a decent player. Lucas, while he's not amazing, was really bad at the beginning. Rafa's simply a top manager in the world.

Rafa Benitez spent more money during his reign at Liverpool than Manchester United. That is a fact. His hits (Mascherano, Torres) are dwarfed by his terrible terrible misses (simply too many to list).

The only reason that it's like that is because of one transfer. The one Ronaldo figure hugely distorted that fact, and if you actually look at the periods where United won something it was much higher than ours.

Oh yeah, players like:
Torres
Alonso
Mascherano
Reina
Agger
Skrtel
Johnson
Kuyt
Arbeloa
Aurelio
Benayoun
Crouch
Garcia

are e. I mean it's not like Rafa has made a profit on 14 of his players to the tune of about 42MP, and made a loss on a whopping 5 of them totalling 14MP.

compared to his bad buys of:

Keane(who was a Parry singing)
Pennant
Morientes
Dossena
Babel(who has the most goals as a sub for a Liverpool player ever)
Riera
Nunez
Josemi
Gonzalez(who he made 1.5MP profit on)
Cavalieri

Then you'll say add Degen and Voronin....both were on frees. You get what you pay for. It's good to note that Rafa made 2MP on the pair of them.

I refuse to add Aquilani seeing as he never had the time to settle because of the current manager, and when he did play he was good(2nd most assists of any Liverpool player). Essien and Nani were both in their first season in the EPL, it takes time to adjust so Aquilani cannot be counted if he never had the chance because of someone else.

The grand total of those is what 60MP? Here's one for you, Anderson, Veron, Hargreaves, Carrick, and Berbatov... those 5 cost 110MP. 5 highpriced baconface buys cost about 10 Rafa buys, when only one of them cost double digits, and was not his choice to buy or not. Quite simply you get what you pay for, unless your name is Ferguson and in which case it's half the time you get what you pay for.

Look at Mourinho, he's paid half of that for Shevchenko who was absolute dross. SWP cost what 50MP? That's 50MP covered by 2 players. Then you can add in the likes of Bouhlarouz at 7MP, Del Horno 8MP, Jarosik(5MP), Tiago(8MP), Kezman(5MP), Ferreira(13MP), that's 106MP squandered in half of Rafa's time.

If you actually look at the kind of players that he bought that were good(Drogba, Essien, Malouda, Carvalho, Robben, Cole) you'd see that all of them except for Cole(who was worth much more and Mourinho cheated to get) cost double digits with 3 of them costing 20MP or more.

So can you not see that the players Rafa has spent double digits on(Torres, Mascherano, Alonso, Johnson, Kuyt, Babel, Keane) that he's only whiffed hard on one of them(Keane - who was not his favourite to buy) and not got his moneys worth on Babel(who's the highest scoring sub in Reds history).

Quite simply, you get what you pay for, and not everybody is perfect, but you choose to look at the flops Rafa bought, many of whom costed nothing and were a necessary risk to take at the price. It was a risk that almost paid off, and that risk netted the likes of Reina, Agger, Skrtel, Insua, Benayoun, Crouch, Sissoko, Arbeloa, Ngog, Soto, and Fowler.

Yeah, too many to list, what a joke.

This is so weird, because looking at the thread it seems that nobody talked about nationality until you brought up 'Spaniard'. Interesting.

You're a twit. Accuse people of xenophobia when you're the one who brought nationality into the discussion, let alone that fact that you can't make it through a sentence without hurling insults.
