I've been to Little Chef only once, and it was years ago, right after they opened. I ordered the steak, and they brought me a no-name hamburger from superstore, cooked, on a plate. I have not been back since.

John Gilchrist reviews, including the new Bottlehouse in Kensington (the location on 10th St and Memorial has been a graveyard for restaurants):

No mention of La Brezza? I think that place is awesome. It's one of the things I miss about Calgary. Is it still up and running?
I also miss good Vietnamese food. I've been to a few places in Vancouver, and man does the Vietnamese food suck here. It's been literally so-bad-I-can't-eat-it on two occasions.
I also loved the Sultan's tent. It's good food and a good experience.

Yep, they just had a coupon for $40 worth of food/drinks for $20 on one of those Groupon clone sites.

It's been mentioned, but mi tierra/tu tierra ( www.mitierra.ca) for Mexican. Listen, it's calgary, but this place beats the pants off of all the faux-mex in this city. Both places are ghetto and the service is so-so at times, but their mole and enchiladas verdes are to die for when you aren't in the US.

Finally had a chance to try Rouge in Inglewood and it delivers big time. It was an entirely different kind of dining experience from start to finish. Everything was fantastic.
For a special night out - nothing beats it.

And if you go - do the tasting menu paired with wine - I've had a tasting menu in a few Calgary restaurants, but Rouge just nails it. We just went there for our anniversary Thanksgiving weekend and it was amazing.

I came here to post just this. The owner's told me that they probably will end up closing Mi Tierra (the original location in Oakridge) down. Agreed on the ghetto, and I actually have yet to try the mole. The Puerco Bean Burrito though, is quite possibly the best Mexican anything I've ever had.

Given it was our first time we didn't do that. Next time for sure. And they still brought us out extra little dishes outside of what we ordered.
Some of the best food I've ever had by far.

Speaking of Jiri, has anybody mentioned Las Tortillas?
Best Tacos in the city, and they make fresh corn tortillas.

Has anyone been to Newport Grill ( http://www.newportgrill.com/). The menu looks good and the Wednesday night deal looks like good value. Haven't heard much about the place though.

It's pretty good. The food is good but not "blow you away good" but it's right on the lake so the atmosphere is coo.

We were at the Olives Restaurant...I give two big thumbs up. All in all a little noisy for an intimate gathering but great for friends..
We friends just love to visit various restaurants and bring out the best in them...whether it's a huge one or small ones..

Olives is a great one before an 8 o'clock Flames game, get to just walk down to the dome afterwards, the carpaccio is unreal as well.

Agree with this one. As others have mentioned, the tasting menu with wine pairings is world class (and the restaurant has been voted as such).
As for other great restaurants:
Best pizza bar none is at Il Centro
Favorite Greek food is at Santorini
Capo in Inglewood is quite nice as well.
Ladybug Cafe in Aspen has a great selection of crepes and desserts
