I guess the 10 year wait was worth it for him!!

That was as dominating a pitching performance as I have ever seen as his defense really wasnt called on to keep him in the no-no. It was all him.

Unbelievable.

First guy to throw two no-hitters in one year since Nolan Ryan in 1971.

Absolutely historic.

Helps to be as dominant as him

(and to face only 7.5 batters instead of 9)

It's like something from a movie, waits all these years and then this happens? The wait was worth it

All class, as he was through his years in Toronto. Shame he plays for the Phils, but should get even a bigger reception July long weekend next year in Toronto.

yup the commentator was right, the official scorer probably had a heart attack when he saw the ball dribbling out in front of home plate

Makes me wonder though - the Reds player threw the bat into fair territory, and right into the path of the play. If catcher hadn't made the out, the Phils had one hell of an argument that the batter should be called out for interference. Imagine if the game had ended THAT way?

104 pitches, 79 strikes. Unbelievable.

Very true, the UMP is glad he didn't have to make that call. He looked like he was in position though.

I was wondering that, what would the ruling have been?

We will never know what the ump would have called.
OR if Ruiz's throw had hit Phillips in the back, that would maybe be runner interference.

Could have been crazy!

Just saw this on twitter:

Roy Halladay has just leaped Kevin Kolb on the Eagles depth chart.

Couldn't happen to a better player. Its sad the Jays could never muster a playoff appearance with him on the roster.

OMG! Halladay is truly amazing. I really hope they go all the way. No one deserves it more than the Doc after suffering the mediocrity of the Blue Jays for a decade!!!

Stupid MLB putting the game on during the day. That would have been nice to watch live.

It baffles me that a professional sports league plays their playoffs during a weekday afternoon.

Worse yet is that there are so few baseball playoff games, why not show them all in primetime? Basically MLB playoffs start at the equivalent of the 2nd round in hockey.

Baseball revels in tradition. Afternoon games are what baseball is about, imnsho. The fact that they can get more revenue by showing all three games nationally certainly helps.
