Just put it up! I'd be very happy if he got 100K, barely any of my players ever sell for 100k

Just a guess, he's built perfectly (2:1:1) and at 70 off is good for any Div IV team in Canada at least. He'd be my top player by a decent margin (next best is 63 off).

Thanks I'll have to take a look at it, can ppl comment?

Edit: looks like he went for 150k

Ahh too bad you didn't get him, but he ended up being my 3rd biggest sale I've made so not too upset

What's your advice on the shooting attribute?

I don't know really. I'm trying hard to get my players better at shooting by having all forwards train shooting on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (and have Defence do tech on those days so those ratios get better as well). It does make a huge difference but with my team being so far behind in all aspects of the game for the league I'm in, I've been forced to just try and get their primary attributes up as fast as possible. Its a skill that lots of people tend to ignore, and I think it really hurts them when you come up against a strong goalie.

Congrats on the sale! I was actually going to monitor him closer but got busy, not sure I would have spent that much, though I was looking forward to having that talented a player

I'll post my lineup/player stats. Let me know if you have a similar experience J, but it seems like shooting is extremely important in some instances.

For example, Vanek is a RW, has 75 shooting, but low supporting stats. However, has a very good ppg average.

With your comments I now know that I should be saving Pal for the playoffs (and at the moment, playing time affects his skill gain). At least I know he is my goalie for the future. Nice C/L and 16. Also gains at a rate of ~90/85/50 for goal/pass/tech.

It seems that shooting really does have a high impact on performance, but maybe that has to do with the fact I'm at such a low level?

Lachowski / Fajcik on my 3rd line/4th line probably have the best overall balance as wingers, but only Fajcik seems to be producing the goods. It seems like the shooting part of his game is missing.

Wow lots of good players. I don't have quite as many imports as you...most of my players are trained close to 2:1:1 (or are geting there) and it seems to be working pretty well so far. Here's my roster as of today:

I'm playing on training shooting to be about equal to technique for wingers. Any ideas on what it should be for def/centers?

Shame on you on the amount of imports! But besides that your team looks like it could have TONS of potential if you train properly. Make sure to not train their primary at all until you have upped the ratios in your players. That's the only way your team will get better. You already have pretty good shooting for league IV, so don't worry about working on shooting until next season, or if you win the promotion, during the offseason (which is a week long). But your team has tons of talent, and way further along than my team was at that time (I barely bought anyone). But try to develop some homegrown talent as well!! C'mon you look like the Rangers out there!

Oh hand you should have Fajcik in your top three lines, he should be on the powerplay, he's your second best forward right now.

This is more what my team looked like at this time. Your moving along quite well as well, not as much high end talent yet but your team is really balanced. I've found out that shooting strength is affected by all 5 players on the ice, so to improve shooting all 5 players must have high shooting. But if you have 2 really strong wingers at shot, it may be better to build up passing for the center so you have a playmaker and snipers. It all depends on how you want your lines to look. Shooting is really not cookie-cutter training, it all depends on who's on what line.

Dude, it has been tough, my roster was stacked with garbage - and I mean garbage when I first started, apart from my goalie prospects, who I am trying to develop.

Most of the players from training camp haven't been great - decent potential, but can't produce the goods yet. So, I've stacked my team with enough to get by.

I've got 15 Canadian kids in the stable that I'm trying to develop.

Were in the same boat on this one. Heck i was in last place and hovering near the bottom untill I was able to hit the market. Now I am in 3rd place with the second place teams manager recently leaving. I do have a couple of great looking canadian rookies though and expect them to crack the lineup next season.

^ ^ Bro, you can't keep playing on High Priority, your guys are going to be toast for the playoffs. I made that mistake as well, but made it up by playing low for almost the rest of the games.

Yeah high priority is gonna kill you in the playoffs (or so I've read) if you're team is tired.I'm thinking i'll be playing on Normal come playoff time as I've read that High just means you take lots of penalties...J could you confirm this?

In playoffs I play high at home, and normal on the road. High on the road is bad news most of the time. But if the team you are playing is most likely playing on low, DO NOT play on high. That equals tons of penalties.

Do you know if certain tactics are better/worse for that?

J, have you tried coach swapping / do you know if it works?

Since we will never actually be able to afford maxed out coaches, especially now, what if you had a 4 coach system going?

Every player has offense/defensive attributes to be effective - on the days you want to train your offensive skills (Pass/Offense/shooting), you use a coach set with high offensive Regen/high offensive skill set. Do that 3 or 4 days in the week.

Then swap to the defensive skill set coaches and train all your players in the def skills (Goal/tech/def/aggressive).

On the days you hold training camps, switch to the player training coaches then on the days you are going to recruit from your sports academy/education centre, switch to your youth ones.

Am I out to lunch here or is this a good idea?
