Stamps defense gave up 623 yards tonight, ouch.

Lets not look at the stats anymore, its humiliating that Durant did that too our defence tonight. They hit every big play, our defence played as bad they could. The Riders offence played as good as they could, when they tried a short play we stuffed them, then they chuck it up and lucky for them Milton Collins was in shambles.
Next time around, if they miss these plays, and our defence makes plays this game will not be even close. Durant throws some ducks, he's a hope and prayer QB.

This loss is all on Chris Jones. How many times can you get burnt by heavy blitzes and man coverage and not make an adjustment? That's the only offense the Riders had in the 1st half and the Stamps didn't change a single thing in the second half. The Riders never proved they could move the ball effectively downfield with longer drives, but Calgary never forced them too with ridiculous playcalling.
TSN was hyping up Durant huge and he definitely did have a great game, but it's not as if he was ridiculously accurate with the deep ball all game. He probably had just as many deep overthrows as the Riders had big plays. The problem is that when the Stamps kept going with the blitz and leaving the deep ball unprotected, completing half those deep balls ends up being 6 or so big plays.
The offense did exactly what it's supposed to, in spite of the O-Line playing their worst game of the year. No turnovers, 427 yards of offense, and 30 points (7 came off the pick-six). That should be enough to win you almost every game.
The funny thing is that the Stamps probably win that game if the Stamps make a smart playcall on 1st and goal from the 10. The screen pass to the RB should've been the call to get them inside the 5 and then you use the advantage of going 2nd in OT to get two cracks at the endzone from there.

One key thing regarding our defensive backs was after that pick returned for a touchdown, it looked like they were all trying to out do each other for a big play.

But they really didn't.
Durant had tons of bad balls thrown deep. But he just got the chance to throw so many that eventually the plays are going to be made. He definitely made a higher than average percentage of those deep throws, but he wasn't anywhere close to perfect with the deep ball.

That didn't help either. How many of those deep balls could've been knocked down if the DB wasn't looking to time the jump and get up there for an INT. At least 3-4 of them came with good coverage where simply looking back to the football, staying with the receiver, and jamming your hand in between his would've been enough to get an incompletion. And on those 40+ yard throws what's the point in doing anything else? Even if you do get the INT it's basically like punting the ball away.

Allen Cameron via Twitter:
Stamps SB Nik Lewis hurt his knee on the last play of the game; same knee that had surgery in the off-season.

I noticed him hobbling a bit after a catch when he got tackled below the waist near the end of the game. Might also explain why he fell on that last play. He might've been trying to jump for the ball but stumbled instead.

Hahaha, did Miller have a TIA or something? He's lucky his players came through for him.
