And what a ridiculous "turnaround question". Did you not watch them beat Va Tech straight up on the road hours ago? What about their two Fiesta Bowls? Or beating Oregon both years in a home-and-home?
|
So because they won 5 games that were all more then a month apart it means they're going to be able to handle a SEC schedule week after week?
EDIT: I'm sure the academics are why Vandy doesn't pull in decent recruits. Pretty sure Stanford has that same issue and does pretty well.

And good job for beating Boise St. in yards (407 to 377) and turnovers (4 to 3) by tiny margins.
If OU won would you be saying that you needed a last minute TD drive (and 2 point convert) and a miracle INT to win? No, it'd be all BS about how OU dominated and showed those mid-majors who's the boss. Like I said, talk all you want about trick plays - Oklahoma still needed to come back from 18 points down to put Boise in position to make those plays.
|
I am just asking just to ask, do you think BSU was better than OU that year? BSU snuck up on OU because everyone took them lightly, it happens. THey jumped out to a quick lead and couldnt do anything in the 2nd half til the last drive . Good for them they surprised a team and their coach even said the same thing on ESPN the other day when asked about it . Was OU a better team .. sure , were the best team that day.. Nope . BUt it wasnt onesided domination by any means.

Vandys athletic budget is UBER low! They put Academics over athletics. They will not budge on recruits to diminish it's academic reputation.

It was a trap game. Just like the Bama Utah game from 2 years ago.
Bama and OU were just not up for playing because they had hopes of national title games.

So what credit does Boise State get for the last ten years with you guys? Seriously. Are they just a program to be laughed at in your eyes?

They are not a bad program but USF has come further in a shorter period of time and is BCS eligible.....

No, it means they'll be able to handle mediocre teams on a consistent basis. As for the whole "they'd wear down playing tough games every week" argument it's all hearsay. Just because SEC says it to pump up their conference doesn't make it true. Isn't it possible that playing better competition every week could actually make them a better team as they get teams closer to their skill level instead of pounding weaker teams every week?
And yeah that's exactly why Vandy doesn't pull in recruits. They graduate 91% of their players - tell me which SEC school even comes close to that figure. Stanford isn't exactly a model for success either - last season was their first winning season since 2001. They also play in the Pac-10 which is a much better academic conference than the SEC.

Last 10 years? They lost their next two bowls after the first Fiesta Bowl over OU. They're not to be laughed at, they have a nice program there, but Strength of Schedule needs to be accounted for when talking about shots at the Championship game. Boise State doesn't have it.

Don't try to argue with SEC fans. They cannot be swayed. The SEC is the greatest football in the history of ever. All other teams would crumble facing them and anyone who isn't in the SEC is a lucky the NCAA lets them play still.

Did you watch the game? The crowd was probably about 75% Va Tech, maybe more.
It might be called a neutral site, but Blacksburg is 4 hours from DC. Boise is 1.5 days.

Your screen name is ridiculous. Bama didn't care that they were playing in the sugar bowl. That's why they got waxed. How do I know? I've spoken with plenty of the players on that team. They didn't care one bit even that they lost to Utah.

I think that they are quite a remarkable program that takes average/low rated recruits and does a wonderful job with them. They do a tremendous job of preparing the team for the big games that they do happen to schedule and deserve a ton of credit for that.
With that being said, before I would even give them a chance to play for the title, I'd need to seem them go undefeated in something other than the 96th (2009), 94th (2008), 113th (2007), 90th (2006), 98th (2005) hardest schedule in division 1 football.

Oh before this gets out of hand, Nike should be ashamed of themselves with that garbage they put on those players tonight.

Four ... but it's all just part of a big Southern conspiracy to keep Boise State down. The teams were actually crap.
