So... the night before Nyjer Morgan injured the Marlins catcher with the ball nowhere near the plate so in this game Morgan gets hit by a pitch in a game that the Natinals are down 15-4, he then steals 2nd and 3rd and scores. next time he comes up, this is what happens...

Both the pitcher and the batter got what they deserved. Both took a good beating, and both IMO simply deserved it for being dumb. Rarely do we see good sports fights aside from hockey, so that one was good.

While I agree it was worth the watch, I can't say I agree with you that Volstad was being "dumb". Morgan had it coming the first time, got plunked in a manner which should be done, as he wasn't throw at around his head.
What Morgan does, is go out and steal second and third in an 11-run defecit. He had it coming again, as he quite clearly didn't get the message. So Volstad throws again at him, around the hip. You don't disrespect the game as Morgan did, by stealing second and third in an 11-run game. You cross the unwritten code in baseball, you are going to wear another until you finally get it.

Screw that "unwritten rule" garbage. I'm glad he stole those bases and then scored.

Why is there so little talk in the Canadian media about Joey Votto? This is a triple crown threat and hardly in the news.
Top talking about steroids or attendance or the MAPLE LEAFS! Talks about this! We may be witnessing the best Canadian baseball player ever! They should be tracking him every day!
Right now he's at .325, 32 HR and 97 RBIs
He's first in RBIs (2nd is Pujols at 95)
He's 2nd in avg (1st is Gonzales at .332)
He's 3rd in HR (1st is Pujols at 35, 2nd is Dunn at 33)
It's very possible!

Well, TSN is a lot like ESPN in that if they don't cover it, they don't care much. And since they dropped the Jays, TSN's interest in the team has gone downhill. Sportsnet might be talking about it, but outside of the Flames and the Jays, I don't watch the channel at all. It's a shame the general media hasn't caught on.

Sportsnet should be. They're even showing the Reds-Cards game tonight but they're not talking about it much. I was refering more to print media. This should be all over the sports sections.

Jeff Blair, with the Globe and Mail, has been not too bad in coverage of this. He even had good write ups about how ridiculous it was that Votto had to win the final "fan vote" to get into the all-star game in the first place.
