I did a good old "define: indie" on google.

If everyone loves indie music, and they sign a big record deal, and they get on commercials, then they are no longer indie and therefore if you like indie groups you must immediately dislike them, that is if you are a true indie hipster.
Of course, indie has magically turned into a genre of music that has become increasingly popular. I find the bands are usually one hit wonders who gain a moderate fan base as a result, but no one else ever hears about them again.
This is the sad state of affairs in modern music.
I'm trying not to judge, as I listen to Nickelback-esque bands, the ultimate in sell-out and media whoreage. But at least those sort of bands admit what they are and don't try to
pretend they are being artsy.
Every band has a place in music, and if they are still around they must be popular for a reason, but I'm just tired of people telling me indie music is where it's at, and it all sounding so boring to me. What's wrong with some good rock and roll? Leave your new-age hipster instruments at home and do it arena rock style!
Ok rant over. Just wanted to say my piece about everyone saying my music sucks when in reality, their music is a made by boring hypocrites (prime example: Coldplay).
