If he is the best player that England has that has to be a terrifying thought for English fans.

Also, looking back means that they didn't do all that bad at the World Cup considering how little talent they actually had.

Rooney is the best English player at the moment

his form all of last season in the league showed that, Man U aren't even a top 4 team without him

but Gerrard has been the best performer for England ever since Scholes retired internationally

Ashley Cole, as much as it pains me to say, has also been immense for England for quite sometime.

We are, top of the league.
I said we are top of the league!

Great result for the Addicks tonight, we were reduced to 10 men again yet managed to pull in front when the match was deadlocked. We scored twice as many goals with 10 men then we did with 11, the lads will be asking who should get sent off next match!

I watched the match online and saw a lot of good things. Talking to a few of my friends last year we were concerned that even if we did get promoted our future would be uncertain as there was this atmosphere in the squad that promoted bad habits. The gutting of our team because of wage restructuring may have helped removed the old mentality; the squad is showing real promise.

A few items

Quote:
Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Joe Collister has been named in the Official League One team of the week, following his performance against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The 18-year old goalkeeper kept a clean sheet at the Galpharm Stadium, helping Tranmere to an excellent 0-0 draw as they picked up their first point of the season.
Collister, who also kept a clean sheet in Tranmere's 1-0 win at Walsall on Tuesday night in the Carling Cup, made a number of convincing saves for Rovers, whilst he was brave enough to claim and punch several crosses, as well as dive brilliantly at the feet of a Huddersfield attacker on several occasions.

Quote:
Tranmere boss Les Parry has vowed to stick by his young players ahead of this weekend`s home clash with Bournemouth.
Rovers followed a 1-0 Carling Cup success at Walsall by grinding out a hard-earned goalless draw at Huddersfield on Saturday.
The visitors' defence included 18-year-old goalkeeper Joe Collister, right back Liam Darville (19) on loan from Leeds United, centre-back Nick Wood (19) and left-back Aaron Cresswell (20).
Parry said: "They all did well. You know what I think about young players: if they come in and perform they keep their places.
"We have some older players recovering from injury who are close to being ready again next weekend but we won't be making any changes to the side after that performance."
Quote:
Tranmere captain Ian Thomas-Moore has been offered a new contract at the club, on the day Rotherham confirmed they have made an official offer.

On the back of the clubs' refusal of his transfer request, manager Les Parry today confirmed they have gone as far as tabling a new deal, as originally requested by Thomas-Moore.

And Parry, who claimed to not have heard about the offer put in by Rotherham, said he hopes to have things sorted this week.

He said: "We've sent Ian a letter saying we've refused it and we're hoping to sit down with him this week and get his second year sorted.

"We've offered him the second year he has been asking for."

But Rotherham supporters site rotherham.vitalfootball claimed at the weekend that United manager Ronnie Moore had told local radio a 'nominal' bid had been put in on Friday for his son.

This was later confirmed on the clubs' official site, and any further negotiation is likely to hinge on the Rovers captain's response to the new contact offer.

Parry added: "If (the offer) is on their website I would imagine it is true.

"We need to keep looking in case something develops and he does end up leaving."

If Thomas-Moore does sign the new deal it will end weeks of speculation about his future.

He initially requested a transfer after being told to wait until Christmas to discuss an extra year on his contract.

But after being offered a two-year contract on better terms by another club, believed to be Rotherham, he told the club he wanted to leave.

Thomas-Moore has played in all three of Rovers' games this season, scoring in the home match against Oldham.

The Championship just got a little more interesting:

I disagree. There is NEVER a reason to go to a Palace match.

Hopefully Saints can keep it close against Bolton. Went to the Leyton Orient game on Saturday, they are really slow, especially down the wings.
