You mean like emotional real estate numbers?

Keep in mind that that those are just forecasts kipperiggy, they can and almost certainly be lower or higher. There isn't any ability to say either economy "will" do anything. For example, the Canadian Real Estate Board originally forecast prices to increase by 5.4% to record highs for 2010. They've since had to revise it and may have to do so again.

To be honest, I would suggest that the forecasts are statistically close and essentially comparable, everything else being equal.

I'm shocked to learn that you purchase those hats instead of making them. That's the lamest thing I've heard all week.

I'm really quite shocked that this thread was once epic and has turned into a pissing contest.

In sports, fans like to talk trash and usually the trash talk extends to the city and it's inhabitants as well. I always thought people were okay with that, and realized that it's all in the nature of being a fan and engaging in the whole trash talking activity.

But then some people take exception to any and everything thrown their way, so this shouldn't surprise me. But if I want to call Rider fans from Saskatchewan an inbred drunk at McMahon, the last thing I'd expect to see is him whip out a newspaper article saying that Saskatchewan is the new Alberta.

All I was trying to say is that these inbred, drunk jokes are unwarranted and offensive given the fact that Saskatchewan is in a better position right now economically than it ever has been, and given its economy has withstood the recession the best out of all the Canadian provinces, and I'd say heading in a better direction than ever before. I was trying to point out that all these jokes do is just show how those who make them are arrogant and ignorant about what's happening just next door.

In my opinion, Saskatchewan is currently doing better than Alberta (not bigger, but better) but I guess I haven't done a sufficient job in trying to prove where I base my opinion off of. But on the other hand, it's just a message board and I'm a busy person, so I guess sorry for quoting for one positive article.

My opinion is based off of quotes from the article, and Saskatchewan's reaction to the recession; Saskatchewan's economy was the strongest in the recession. It was ALL OVER news reports. I don't understand why it is so incorrect to say this.

I'm going to quit trying because I just don't see the point anymore. Don't start pulling out "no you said this" or "no you meant that" because I thought I had a done a decent enough job of stating my opinion/argument and showing why I thought that way. I guess I should have made the line clearer between my opinion and fact; I wasn't trying to state anything as fact that can't be disputed but moreso my opinion, what that opinion is based upon, and why it's a valid opinion. Instead I just get snide remarks or jokes, or comments that my opinion or argument either doesn't exist or is wrong. I didn't realize that could happen with someone's opinion.

Yes rivalries can extend to cities/locations but I find it offensive to call a province growing such as Saskatchewan full of inbred drunks. Hell, even if the economy wasn't growing, I just can't fathom why some posters don't seem to understand why a person would find that offensive. It's a hell of a lot more offensive than saying people from Edmonton have mullets.

I'm sure there'll be numerous posts mocking this one as "crybaby" or "whining". I find this disappointing, as like I said, I just can't fathom why some posters don't see the extreme offensiveness behind comments such as inbred drunks. Thus then I decided to point out the offensiveness and why the jokes are unwarranted in the first place.

I thank the posters who have posted thoughtful posts in response, rather than those who just pop in with the one-liners and the pictures.

Well, let's keep in mind what started all this in the first place...An overzealous Riders fan taking shots at us, followed by his team losing after all his ****talking. It is what it is, a trash talking thread, started by a Riders fan. I'm not sure why you'd expect anything else.

While it seems you take trash talk FAR too literally, my advice would be to find a suitable, equally offensive come back for Stampeder fans or just ignore the whole "trash talk" discussion at all. It would be fairly humorous if you started a discussion about how the economy is better in City A than City B while at a sporting event.

Even though I may call all Oiler fans mullet heads and refer to the city of Edmonton as Mulletville, people can't be naive enough to think that I am under the impression that EVERYONE in Edmonton sports a mullet (although, how awesome would that be!)

I also ride around in my Firebird with Whitesnake blaring.

Can't we just get along?

^ valo's comment there is more of what I expect as trash talk. I didn't find anything wrong with Poison's original shot at the Stampeders about how the Riders would beat them handily (can't remember exact wording), but I do find all of the shots at Saskatchewan people offensive. I suppose I just have a different definition than the rest of you, which is fine. I wasn't surprised by the comments but just thought I'd point out why I thought they weren't relevant. Sorry for the long drawn out discussion and responses... I'm kinda a nerd over this sort of thing.

It sounds like the native 306'ers need validation from the Albertans to say "Saskatchewan ain't that bad!"

And maybe it isn't. Still- I'm not moving there.

Only a couple are looking for validation. The other 7 of us don't really care.

Rumoured there were about 20 ejections on the game last Sat. And a story about a new youtube video with a violent altercation b/w fans and the police.

Quote:
A new video has been posted to YouTube showing Calgary police officers physically removing two football fans from their seats at McMahon Stadium during the Stampeders game Saturday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Quote:
A third fan, seated and wearing a red T-shirt, is seen brushing an officer's hand off his shoulder. He had to be physically removed with the help of another officer when he wouldn't co-operate.
"He had allegedly thrown a beer can on the field or at someone," said Stanton.
While he was being removed, a fourth fan appeared to be pushed and then confronted the officer. He was also removed.
Quote:
"Each game has it's own issues, and the makeup of the crowd plays a factor, as does alcohol consumption," said Stanton. "But the numbers (of ejections) were fairly consistent with what we usually see."
Although some media reports put the number of ejections at up to 20, Stanton wouldn't say how many fans were removed from the stadium.

I love the title

The cops are hardly over reacting. Those final two were acting like morons.

They it looks like asked the one guy to stand up and leave, he acted like a moron.

The other idiot gets in the face of the police officer.

in my day they both would have been taken below and given the pink bunny treatment.
